An idea I have been toying with and will commence shortly.

Thought I might as well blog it

This will really only make sense to those that have read the wheel of time series.

I am planning on making some small armies from mainly WHFB mini's and maybe some reaper and others as well.


The concept will be for LOTR style rules.

So for example (subject to subtle conversions):

Kislevites = Saldaens.
Wood Elves - Aeil
Bretonnians: Murandians, Andorans, Band of the red hand dark friends etc.
Empire: Cairheinen
Beastmen: Trollocs.

This is just a beginning.

The lovely part of this idea is that unlike some fantasy, the Wheel Of Time world is not all "good vs evil".

What I mean by this is that even though they are both essentially "good" peoples, Andorans and Carheinen are as likely to have a skirmish with each other as with trollocs (probably more likely)!!

Anyway ill keep you posted.

Ill prob work on some Aeil or Band Of The Red Hand first.

Rofl... wood elves as Aiel... If Aviendha found out about this she would skin you alive. I'm not sure any of the non-evil factions in WHFB are badass enough to be proxy Aiel.

Interesting point of view but I would have to disagree totally.

What are Aeil?

In my vision an awesome hybrid of Norse looking people (tall, blue eyes, red and blonde hair), who fight with bows, long knives and spears only in camoflague leathers in a sort of Viking crossed with Native American Indian sort of way...

Add to this that they are often attractive despite hard, females fight as often as not, the men are clean shaven and so on, and I think you have the perfect base for a Aeil conversion in Wood Elf glade gaurds.
