Ok so here is my 2500pt Tyranid list I have been using of late, I keep making fine adjustmants to it, but it has seamed to be working out fine so far, Im about 4/7 wins - 1/7 ties - 2/7 losses. I really want to squeeze some more Gene stealers in my list but I just dont see where to put them. I can drop a trygon for it, but those things tend to die easyif I dont have 2-3, also they make great decoys. My raveners are great at jumping on shooty squads I want dead or tied up. my 2 large genestealer squads eat marines for breakfast. I need the 2 tervigons to give the 2 genestealer squads FnP and to spawn some objective takers. the tyrant is there mostly for his reserves bonuses unfortunately, and I gave him wings to keep up with the trygons. almost my entire army can outflant or deep strike, even my one troop tervigon can outflank only the HQ tervigon and the gaunts have to walk onto my table edge if I want. I play no deployment or all deployment depending on my oponent of course.

So tell me what you think and im open to suggestions on how to make it better. tho I dont really want shooty bugs, This is My Ant lions, mostly assault army

I really like this list. I'm very much anti-"bugs with guns" so seeing purely (or at least mostly) assault armies makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. I've got a list that I'm playing around with that is basicly a Tyrant then hordes of Hormagaunts, Ravs, and Trygon Primes but I think I like this a little better. Do most of your opponents play it so the Hive Commander reserve bounus works off the board? If not, then it could get kinda sticky if you have to put him out there turn 1 all alone. Also, I'm curious about what you would change if you had to run 2k points?

Edit: Also, why the 2x scytals on the Hive Tyrant as opposed to LW/BS + Scytals (I'm not saying it's wrong, just curious on the reasoning)

Yes people in my area play it so it can be used off the board, if not then he would be not near as worth taking. As for the LW/BS I take 2x scythign talons because it lets me reroll all hits against moving vehicles, which usualy gets that extra hit in I need to do serious damage. and I agree, I dislike shooty bugs, most armys can easily outshoot bugs, and slow movign bugs that stop to shoot dosent seam scary at all, I prefer to run jump and hop my way to CC victory

Ah, that mkes sense with the wings and vehicle hunting. I had built mine to start on the board with a couple of tyrant guard and armored shell since the reserve bonus is played differently here. Basicly he served as a baby sitter for hormagants for a few units of hormies and everything else goes full bore offensive.

I would probably take the swarmlord for pure awesomeness if I was going to take a walking tyrant. my tyrant usualy dies easily regardless how i kit him, tyrants just are so expensive and always seam to draw all the fire.
