Drop Trooper with Demo Charge

Bedfordshire, United Kingdom

After playing 40k for a long time and kind of getting bored of it i thought i would try out lord of the rings and i was espesialy taken by war of the ring so ive started collecting two armies for this that can also be used for normal lord of the rings games. I tend to collect armies to a theme rather than to make them rock hard. As im sure some of you might remember i started a Knights of Dol amroth army a while back, that army is still on the go but with the new plastic models out im going to redo them ad include them in my army for war of the ring.

So here goes with some photos, first off is my first formation of Elfs, i know the cloaks should be blue but i prefer the look of them red so thats why they are red.

And finaly their shields:

And my evil army so far only consists of this guy which i realy am finding a chore to paint. I enjoyed doing the conversion though.

Please excuse the messy movement trays, they where painted with what was left of some goblin green. Eventualy they will be airbrushed shades of green. Also a usefull tip for painting shields i picked up a long time ago is to leave them on the sprue untill they are done to make them easier to hold.

O and as a side note if anyone is interested in a tutorial on how to do the wood effect on the back of the shields i have done do say and i will put one together next time i have some shields to paint.

Any comments good or bad are welcome, these models are most definatly work in progress but im always happy for people to offer me advice on improving them.

Because we’re here,lad...

I say good effort so far. A little patience can go along way. The wood effect on the back of the sheilds add a nice touch. And don't worry about blue cloaks being red, it's your army. Paint them as you want them painted, not as fluff would dictate.

Bash

I love those little moments between the first kiss and the pepper spray...
