The original thread is locked now but I wanted to let folks know that the crests are now cast in metal and come in three styles -- including a smaller front-to-back that works with a straight forward head *AND* jump packs.

They look good, although the chunky paintjob isn't doing them any favours...

The first one is also maybe a little tall. YMMV, obviously.

while i like the first on the left, the one in the middle looks like it was dipped in cake frosting. i'm not sure if the paint was glopped on really thick or if it was sculpted with less of the brush detail that the others have.

I assume those randomly chosen sci-fi heads are not included and were just grabbed from your bitz box as examples.

@insaniak: You're right about the paint work on these. I've been too busy to paint anything in months and now I'm working on a Land Raider for the Storm Wardens Charity Project. If you paint a set I'll happily display them with your name on the site

@warboss: The detail is there on all three - my ham handed paint job killed some detail and I'm going to make time to correct that tomorrow. I'll have new pics up for sure. The same offer applies to you about painting a set for the site though

@Kid_Kyoto: You are quite right. Those random sci-fi heads happened to be close at hand. Although fully compatible with the displayed heads they are also usable on the models of your choice. *cough*

If I could afford to be buying miniature stuff at the moment, I would happily see what I could do... but alas, I'm still paying off a wedding. :(

HA! You have my sympathies. I've been married for five years - but now I have a kid due in September! I think I'll never paint again and I'm sure to be paying for the rest of my life

These have got to be about the ugliest accessory for a Marine I have ever seen...never been a fan of crests, even the crappy ones GW came up with...that said it wouldn't do if we all liked the same thing.
