Emergency disembark is covered on p.67 BRB. It says, that when unit use emergency disembark, it cannot do anything for the rest of turn. So, when my transport is wrecked in my opponents shooting phase, and i'm unable to disembark, can I use emergency disembark? And when I do this,can my models act normally in my turn, or "for the rest of the turn" means that in my turn they're still affected by emergency disembark?

RAW if you go first it wears off after you're opponent's turn. You'll be hard pressed to find a judge that will side that way though :/

The rulebook tells us that "turn" means "player's turn," unless specified otherwise. So, yes - if you emergency disembark on your opponent's turn, your unit may act normally in your next turn.

(The point of the emergency disembark rule's prohibition on doing anything else that turn seems mostly to prevent you from blocking your OWN exits, then disembarking out of the front of your vehicle, and still acting.)

Speaking of emergency disembark...


This has happened the past few games and id like the dakka opinion!

I have a 20 man unit in a BW(open topped)...said BW is wrecked can I place models that have gotten out via emergency disembark on the BW it self as it is now a piece of dangerous (difficult?) terrain? Or do i have to be on the ground? I was unable to stay an inch away from his gene sneakers without piling on top of the wagon...

We have played as though i could but i got to thinking...if i cant it could affect my BW usage a little...

No, you cannot.
You have to disembark first. Only after disembarking does it become a wreck.

So, you would have to disembark as many as possible. Any that cannot disembark will die.

Ok...i guess im gonna have to be more careful about where my BW ends up...but if i am reading you correctly I dont lose the whole unit if they cannot all get out then? just the ones that couldnt get out?

Correct. The only time you would lose a whole unit from this is if:
a) The entire wagon was surrounded and there was no space to even put a single model legally
b) You are an Elfdar Herpaderp and Fly Flat out into terrain and hit a Spess Tree.

There's also flat out ramming and so on... basically, only if you do something pretty dumb to begin with does it come back to bite you on your turn.

Ramming is actually safer. If you explode, you can deploy safely. It's only if it wrecks that you die!

He usually catches me w a unit of stealers after ive run over 2 or so other units...I rarely have this problem w his eldar...mainly it happens w tyranids! 8 or so stealers charge...even if they have to get 6s and 6s a few are bound to get through...
