hi.
been playing with corsairs lately and I'm wondering if this list is a good one. played them with allied haradrim raiders. But now I bought a blister of arbalasters, I think I have enough to make a pure corsair army. I'm gonna play them in the holidays. Exams are almost done.
so on to the list.

Captain with 2 handed weapon
bo'sun with 2 handed weapon
8 corsairs with shields.
8 corsairs with spears
4 corsairs with bows
3 arbalasters.

this list comes to exactly 300 points.
so, what do you think.

shoot the enemy at long range with arbalasters and bowmen. Let them come close. Then throw some throwing daggers. And then I want to pack a serious punch in hand to hand thanks to the rest of me lads

I see...but can you try having more bow men?I dont know,I love archery more than combat

No, I think I already have 33% with bows ( + crossbows)

It looks good in my eyes; good archers, good numbers, and good amount of might. Maybe add somethig with a little speed, even if it`s just some Wargs

yeah but then I have to add another captain too. That + the wargs will cost a lot of extra points. And I really want to play small games with them.

Six wargs+a goblin captain costs 77 points and gives some punch and more might. But without is fine too though

A lot of might is not that necessary for me. As long as the games I play are fun.

I`m not trying to make your list cheecy (god forbid), but i think a little speed is fun (i find foot-slogging boring, but maybe my tactics are just bad). The Goblin captain are there just to make it legal.

yeah I'll think about it. maybe I could dump the corsair captain and replace it with a goblin captain. I'll dump some more and try to add wild wargs. But 1st I'm gonna try this list out.

Well, are you playing scenarios or just doing straight up slugfests? The list is solid for stand-up fights, but picking up a box of wargs or other fast movers to have as an option to swap in for scenarios in which speed is needed or objectives must be claimed would certainly benefit you. I've also seen a good deal of success pairing corsairs with Haradrim raiders and a chieftain.

The corsairs are a very tactically flexible force; when partnered with arbalesters they are quite capable of significantly thinning out formations so they can be torn apart in close combat. Conversely, swap the arbalesters for raiders (or even heavy cavalry with the Knight of Umbar for larger games), and you will turn it in to an efficient and deadly mobile force that will easily outmaneuver most enemies.

Good hunting.
