So...I was looking into a way to carry my army from place to place. I have seen the troop transport foam carriers...but the GW brand ones are expensive as hell! Is there any cheaper way to get this (like a generic version)? Or an alternative that won't destroy my models?

Everywhere I'm not supposed to be.

Look into Sabol Defense. Pretty good stuff, and I didn't think it was too terribly expensive.

If you need me, I'll be busy wiping the layers of dust off my dice.

Do you have any extra banner or antennae sticking out?

If not , there is nothing a towel and a box cant do. Im sure its better than foams too

Really depends on what your trying to protect.

I box/plastic container with packing peanuts works just fine for tanks etc.

I have two cats and I use the extra buckets that their 35 pounds of kitty litter come in.

I spray painted them black with green spots and strips to make it look like camo. Then I use extra plastic containers like peanut butter jars or butter tubs packed with paper towels and bubble wrap. Works perfectly. I could drop that thing off my roof, kick it around, sit on it, and they stack easily.

If you are feeling up to some work, you can head to a local shop that sells fabric, and you can usually find the foam used inside cushions in furniture in sheets of various thickness, down to about 1/2 inch. Some work with a hobby knife and a hot glue gun, and you have some trays.

I have no idea how you can endorse this idea.

Sabol foam is the best for the price. For $70 you get their standard case, filled with pluck foam that you can customize to fit whatever models you want. While it's more expensive than GW's case, you're getting a LOT more storage room for the money, and customization to fit your needs.

This is what I did. I got 30 Sabol-sized trays' worth of foam for $40.

You usually cant get as good a cut on on it, and therefore cant get the same amount of stuff in, but the price is right. blackfang may have had different results from me, though; he seems to have used it quite a bit more lol.

Don't know how much shipping is to the US, but I use KR cases - they're £20 each with customisable foam and carry more models than a (larger) GW one.

I just use a tool box with removable tray. The bototm part of the tool box holds vehicles/terrain, the top holds infantry.

I used to use a box and threw my models in after wrapping them in bubble wrap. Worked very well.

I found a steel suitcase and made cut outs from these old foam tiles we had laying around.

And a few battle foam sheets for the units.
