Is there a place where I can find generic green stuff? I saw the stuff at my LGS, but it costs a crap ton of money.

You could try getting it from the manufacturer - not GW.

Polymeric Systems Inc MAKE it (GW buy it from them and repack it, before marking up the price) and sell it in 36" long rolls. It's the "blue-yellow" epoxy putty on their site.
They even have a list of outlets you can get it from on their website.

well, the generic name is "kneadatite". I know it's possible to get it cheaper, but I haven't been able to find any in a non-gaming store myself.

That said, you really don't use that much at a time. I bought a $20 2-tube thing of gale force 9 stuff like 3 years ago, and I'm just now starting to run out, and that's with a lot of conversion work in the meantime.

A high up-front, perhaps, but it goes quite a ways. The only thing I can say for certain is not to buy from GW as they charge an even more exorbitant mark-up than other companies.

gale force 9 green stuff is a great value for the amount you get compared to GW. i picked mine up for i think 10 or 15 and im not even 1/8 way done with the tube
