I've seen people using a cookie sheet to transport their armies, often with magnetized bases so they don't fall over and off the sheet.

Do any of you guys use this method? Is it effective? What are the best kind of magnets to use, and how much will they cost?

I've got a fledgling IG army that I'm just about to start playing at 750, and I don't have the funds right now to spring for another actual army case or anything fancy. Thanks in advance, Dakka peoples!

Terrible rules-writing no doubt, but given that you basically can't play it RAW in any kind of sensible way lets you know that it can't be right.

Welding steel can be purchased from OSH depending on size from 12 - 25 dollars (U.S.) Combine that with a framing kit and your set for a much beetter looking tray. You can also add a woodland senic grass sheet and cover the steel for a nice look.

Here is a tray done with welding steel and a desert sheet from woodland senics.

The models hang great and have no trouble fliping this tray on its side.
