Can somebody tell me whether or not the crimson fist sergeant is a conversion or a special model?

I dont have pics, but Its the one holding the bolter in his right hand and he is pointing with his left. Its in the daemonhunters codex, and I think its on the last page of the space marine book opposite of the army reference sheet.

The guy in the Space Marines codex just looks like a very cool reposing of a basic tactical marine with one or two minor conversions, but it's hard to tell.

This is the guy right?

yes thats the one.

I initially thought that too, but it seems to be a pretty old model because its also in the daemonhunters codex.
I'm just curious because its one of my favorite sergeant models.

Just took a look at my DH codex. That's a badass looking sargeant.

bits are the old pointing metal arm of space marine devastators 3rd edition and the rest is standard tactical squad bits

That's a standard Tac Marine with a MKVIII chestplate, and the arm which would be gripping the trigger has been replaced with the pointing arm. Everything else is built as standard.

Yup i think Valkyrie is right but if you wanted to make it you colud use the MKVIII chest a norm head and the arm that holds the grip thats not the handle and put the gun in that then for the pointing arm you could use the one in the command squad box

I apologise to anyone who interacted with me around 2009-2012.

Arm that holds the grip is the same arm type (right arm) as the one in the command squad box.

Noo D: the plastic pointing arm was not released back then, its this arm

That arm is a metal piece that came with the 3rd edition metal hybrid devastators.

I had to make one of those guys when he first appeared and yes, that is the old 3rd edition dev. sergeant arm.

Yeah, it is the old metal Devastator Sgt arm...the shoulder guard is modelled quite poorly and isn't quite the same proportions as a plastic shoulder guard. I chopped off the whole metal shoulder guard and replaced it with a plastic one...much nicer.

If possible, I would try to shave the shoulder a bit so he is pointing straight out rather than slightly down. The current post might look a little off unless he's on top of something tall.
