I just bought the wolf pack set and it allows for the building of gray hunters and blood claws, but didn't notice much of a difference. Is there anything I should do to distinguish the two?

Blood Claws do not have bolters, while Grey Hunters have bolters, bolt pistols, and close combat weapons. Grey Hunters can be assembled any way you damn well please as a result of this, while Blood Claws shouldn't have any bolter arms. The real distinction with these two units is how they're painted.

I prefer using using greyhunters over blood claws becasue of the free bolter...also the heads are better...
But my older brother pours our bloodclaws and uses them as fodder to eat bullets...

...urrrr... I dunno

I like Blood Claws, personally. What's not to like about berserk drunk young space vikings? Personally, I use both.

As to your unit, it's best to remember that it's the shoulder pads that mark out what is what. Blood Claws: Red and yellow, Grey Hunters: Red and Black.

Yea, Hunters are the only SW who is able to carry 3 weapons!
Personally I think a marine equipped with boltgun should have it on the model, but thats just me, thinking a boltgun is a bit to large and bulky to hide in their P-armour pants or whatever. You could even paint them similar so you can use them as either troop you like, but most players would probably use their imagination to try to set them apart. All my GH have helmets and bolters, BC have hand weap/b-pis and bare heads, as an example. Just dont go crazy with the wolfclaws and stuff, and youll be alright.
