Need to make final tweeks to my tourney orks.

Orks 1500 points

- Big Mek
Burna

(one of the deff dreads counts as a troops choice)

1500 points exactly

So the deff dreads go in front with the big mek in the unit of burnas behind and then the shootas in a line behind that and the cc boyz in two lines behind them with the deffkoptas buzzing around staying out of charge range trying to pop tanks.
Any comments are welcome
especially about the deffkoptas and what you might replace them with, i use them simply because i like the AOBR models and they are reasonably good at tackling tanks!

I think I'd take those 5 deff koptas, and split them up into 3 units of 1, and give each of them a buzzsaw, that should come out to almost the same number of points (210 vs the current 225). Since your list has no mobility, having some suicide deffkoptas that can go and take out whatever is going to be a problem, sounds good to me.

i guess i liked the mass firepower at range rather than charging a tank and then getting counter charged and killed

One of those Deff Dreads is also a Troop option.

I would seriously consider cutting the burnas with Meks. You already have an impressive array of close combat critters, and they won't really add much that your normal boyz won't handle.

I would say cut 2 deff dreads and the burnas, and the HQ Big Mek's burna.

Now this is where you should consider your options.

I suggest adding moar fire powah. Add in some rokkit toting Killa Kans, or throw in some Lootas.

If you take a second big mek, it makes the two remaining Deff Dreads you have troop options, opening the door to more Heavy support hijinks.

The bottom line is that you need to find more ranged fire support, and Lootas and/or Killa Kans give you that extra versatility.

EDIT: By flipping into the list more killa kans with rokkits, I would remove the rokkit launchas from the slugga and choppa boyz. Maybe Big Gunz, but the idea is to throw them into kombat if you keep them slugga and choppa boyz.

When you have 5 koptas in one unit, you'll at most kill 1 tank/transport per turn.
When you have 3 koptas spread out over 3 units, and they can both shoot and cc a tank... much better shot at killing 3 tanks/transports per turn.

In addition, you can turboboost with your pre-game scout move, and get a first turn shot+charge (auto-hit with 3 s7 attacks in CC since nothing has moved yet). A

I also agree with the loota suggestion, but I see the whole meks repairing dreads theme you have going with the burnas =p

That is a good idea with the scout move, i had forgotten about that. And i like the idea of killa kans with rokkits
good suggestions all, so two deff dreads and six killa kans could be awesome. I will try it

KFF Meks need no upgrades but KFFs. Also, get a second KFF Mek.

Less Burnas, more Lootas. Never take Meks in Burnas or Lootas.

Boyz come in two sizes: 12 Sluggas in a Trukk, 30 Shootas on foot. Always take a Power Klaw and a Bosspole. Boyz mobs almost never need special guns.

Deffkoptas should be in solo units with TL Rokkits and Buzzsaws.

Deff Dreads are terrible, Killa Kan Squadrons are better.
