While you're Shas'O is hard to kill he doesn't seem like much of a threat to really shoot at. I've also read many things about just downgrading a Shas'O and getting a Shas'El and getting the wargear that increases his BS. I've also read stuff about the not awesomeness of shield generators.
Sorry about being vague but since I'm not a very seasoned player (Needs more salt) I just try to pass some knowledge from other posts I've read.

If you want a team that deals with hordes well, you want to look at weight of fire items, not flamers, as your primary damage component (CiB, AFP, BC).
If you want a team that deals with transports well, you want to look at TL MPs (with a flamer tacked on for the last hard point, as the conventional wisdom goes).
Right now you're not going to be happy with Crisis Teams 2&3 - neither is good at the job you mention you want them for.
The shield'o is always rather unimpressive, I think. If you're set on him, consider making him close range defense for the BS instead of giving him one MP to shoot vainly at a transport, and in turn, remove the plasma's from the BSs to save those points, and then drop something like 4 hounds total - use those points to get a team of pathfinders (moving the FW fish to them for FoC purposes). That would be my major tweak to this list, I think.

whoops, those were old notes on crisis teams. Right now they're meant to be able to fulfill multiple roles, and broadsides are meant to help deal with termies after killing big stuff like monoliths, land raiders, etc. The shield'o personally is required for a nin'ja tau list to work, because he lets me bring in more anti tank/transport/horde as needed.
@ hido
he's full up on hard points, and he doesn't ant to be shot at. he needs to be able to bring in reserves as needed. and a lascannon or two at him after the shield drones die, and he's in trouble, even in cover guard can use an order to remove it.

Ninja tau is really a 4th edition tactic. It makes for fun, but does really stand up at higher points values (1850+).

Part of what poster Hido is hinting at would be: Shas' el, TA, PosRel, MP, hwDC x2 Shield Ds. The main reason to change to this would be to save points. Secondarily, the enemy will be less inclined to go after it -- not suckered into ignoring it, but it's less of a prize to nail.
As for having the SheildGen against stray LasCan shots? With 5e *full* of Cover Save opportunites ... If you don't have him in/behind cover on your turn, then .. "Whachu doin' man!?!?"

I suggest adding the TA to make the fish's shots really count.
Wolfblade wrote:Broadside Team notes: Meant to deploy with the Shas'o and take out harder stuff like land raiders.
They need SDs if they're going to survive to Turn 3. I'd put the SDs from the Crisis teams here instead.

This odd mix of TLs doesn't feel right. Even with the Deathrain's mix of FLamer and MP, I think TLing the MP is better.

hmmmm idk, I like the shield drones on the crisis suits for the protection. I'll try to find points for more shield drones.
ah forgot the TA on the devilfish. thanks!
and as I said, with some proper moving/guard orders, the cover save just got negated but I'll downgrade him I suppose to save the points. that actually does give me the points needed for a shield drone though.
