So my Magister for my Mordheim warband managed to acquire this as his starting spell. Now assuming he successfully takes over a member of the opponents warband with no ranged weaponry...how does it work?

Do I get to use them in their turns or does he now make moves and such in my turns? If he has no gun he can basically do nothing the turn I can use him since magic is used in the shooting phase. What if he passes the leadership test at the start of his next turn...does it essentially mean my power was useless?

Lure of Chaos
The Chaos Mage calls upon the taint of chaos which exists in the inner soul of all living beings. The spell has a range of 12" and must be cast on the closest enemy model. Roll a D6 and add the Chaos Mage’s Leadership to the score. Then roll a D6 and add the target’s Leadership to the score. If the Chaos Mage beats his opponent’s score he gains control of the model until the model passes a Leadership test in his own recovery phase. The model may not commit suicide, but can attack models on his own side, and will not fight warriors from the Chaos Mage’s warband. If he was engaged in hand-to-hand combat with any warriors of the Chaos Mage’s warband, they will immediately move 1" apart.

If you gain control you gain control for at least one turn then on your oppenents next turn the model will make a leadership test. If the affected model passes then he goes back to normal if not then the Chaos mage "still" controls that model for another turn.

So when do I gain control exactly. Can I move the model in my turn or in the enemy turn?

If I take control in my turn then can I only effectively shoot that turn before he starts to test for recovery in his turn?

If not then he gets a chance to recover in his turn before I get to use him...

This is confusing.
