I recently got a commission to paint up Dave Taylor's conversion of Abaddon the Despoiler. It is nice to see Abaddon getting an update like this, 'cause that mini was from way back.

Anyway, here he is:

One of the best versions of Abaddon I've seen! He looks better than the original model and way better than many plastic terminator based conversions of him Ive seen out there!

Do you think you could start making a painting guide here on dakka? Like slowly building up a page, starting wiith ( for example) how to paint faces then the next week painting sourced light then next week drybrushing and so on. Until you have built up an entire collection of tips and guides on painting?

Its a really nice conversion. It actually looks alot like the original but the way he SHOULD look now. And as always a super job painting it

I've seen pictures of the conversion unpainted, and it looked awesome then. Your paintjob really brings it to life. Any chance of some shots from other angles? And I'm not sure if this is just the light in the picture, but the trim on the pauldrons doesn't look gold at the moment. Is it the light, or have you just not done the gold parts yet?

I'm both instinctive and emotional. I value my own instincts and desires, and either ignore or crush anything that stands in my way; planning and foresight are unnecessary. At best, I'm determined and fierce; at worst, I'm headstrong and infantile.

Well, I've been doing something like that on my painting blog. Every time I blog some painting technique, I put in a link on the side. They aren't in any particular order, just whatever I had done recently or wanted to talk about.

I've got a good number of them. Sure, it isn't on Dakka, but I hope that can still count for something.
