Anybody here feel the earthquake? Now I know earthquakes can be common in some places but this is the first one I can remember in Toronto.
If you did feel the earthquake what were you doing? I was playing piano and the room started to shake, at first I thought my dad was doing something weird upstairs (renovating the bathroom, might be using a really shaky tool perhaps) soon I realized that wasn't so. Share your stories!

Your all nutz.

It was an American crossing the border that caused the "quake."

Just be thankful it was one. Imagine if a whole family crossed the border all at once...

LOL! I was out jogging when it happened. Most interesting thing to happen to Ontario in 100 years!

My niece, who is blonde, but is also the valedictorian of her college class, asked her mother - who my niece knew was flying in an airplane at the time - if she felt the tremor.

That's not good. I've heard that if the gulf sea floor collapses due to the oil/methane gusher, it may aggravate the New Madrid fault, causing eruptions that will result in the great lakes emptying into the Mississippi, flooding the whole Mississippi basin. In wonder of the rip could extend all the way to Canada. Just imagine of a sea-way opened up from the Gulf of Mexico all the way to Hudson Bay!!! Missouri, Illinois, Louisiana, Kentucky, Mississippi and Arkansas would have ocean front property.

I was in the GW store in Burlington when it happened, and felt nothing. There were about four or five us in there playing / painting, and none of us felt it. We found out a few minutes later when mall security came in to let us know about the quake.
We all found it quite humerus, as it's been a runnign joke that one day it would be hit by an earthquake(the mall has been hit by lightning, caught on fire, and the store has flooded due to leaking pipes in the ceiling, all in the past few years.

That frozen tundra to the north, where we all live in igloo's, play hockey, and drink beer. Oh and our alphabet only has one letter eh?

You're kidding, but the new Madrid is something that no one thinks about. While nothing has happened there in a long time, 200 years ago a quake occurred that was strong enough to divert the Mississippi and create the only natural lake in the state of Tennessee. I'm don't want to make light of some of the tragic earthquake events that have happened on the west coast, but it happens enough there that they prepare for it. A large quake on the new Madrid would be bad.
