Right, so i'm actually a first time painter but long time admirer, but when i finally have enough money together i plan on starting up a sizeable Black Templar army, although i plan on deviating from the normal colour scheme to have something a bit more muted.

The best way to explain is to show you using the preliminary idea i had for my own Black Templar Crusade named "Exuro Haereticum" (Burn The Heretic, i think!)

If im barking up the wrong tree and im not allowed to paint Black Templars anything other than black do tell me!! (oh btw i messed up the eye's, they were meant to be black rather than the cream i chose!)

Cream would look good on templars anyway

I have no problems with the paint scheme, and if all else fails, then yeah, just say they're a successor chapter.

Also, I think the latin you want is "Ure Haereticum", or maybe "Confla Haereticum", Since Conflo, conflare means "to enflame" and "to purify"

It is a fine paint scheme and really does not matter as long as you like the "fluff" you came up with it.

I did a slight change from the scheme and play them as normal marines sometimes saying they are a crusade allocated to the Inquisition as "penance" for keeping such huge numbers (they get culled down by being disposed of due to exposure to chaos taint).

Modified the Vulcan fellow with a brazier attached to his backpack and called him the "Keeper of the flame" since my army likes to burn and melta.

So it all works.

Ahhh!!..it was these guys that inspired my paint scheme, and what i shall be trying to emulate colour wise, well slightly!!..I want to add a smidge more Gold, Black and Red!





And again i wont actually be going for a look as dirty and battle worn as them!

I have freed up the money for some of the items, and within the next week or so i should be able to start uploading photos of my very first attempt ever to paint these guys!..Wish me luck!

If your a first time painter, practise the main techniques on some spare marines first, otherwise by the time you get to the end of your army you wont like your first squad!

Yeah, GMM is where i found em and fell in love with the scheme!!..Although i did some playing around with the B&C army painter...and i wonder if any of these would make a suitable "Templar" colour scheme. Well actually, which do people prefer?...I might just end up going with my first one but i just wanted to spread my paint scheme!

Generally templars seem to only have these colours in their scheme: red, black, white, silver and gold

So either the one in my very first post? or the one at the bottom of 5 schemes?
