Hey guys, finally finished my Archaon on foot model. It's not that great, but it's better than anything else I've painted so far IMO so I'm fairly happy with it.
Was a lot of fun to paint, the sculpt is a great one.

Could you post the images here? You'll get a lot more people commenting if they can see the images here on Dakka rather than going to another site - you can never underestimate the laziness of forumgoers

It looks pretty good though. He looks a little plain for somebody so big in the fluff though - he just looks like a champion for a unit.

I agree. Partly due to the fact that he is masked, and looks like other chaos warriors, he seems like more of a unit champion or something along those lines.

I think the sword could use some more highlighting, for one. Its solid dark green makes it look like green stuff to me, and I'm sure a weapon wielded by such a character would look powerful in itself. The fur could also probably use a little bit of drybrushing.

Something about it, though, makes me like the hilt. Not sure what it is.

He looks pretty good, although it's weird seeing Archaon on foot. Did you just not use the horse, or is this a conversion?

I was just tired last night, I'll post them up into my gallery and edit the link! Thanks for the tips. I think that part of the plain look is that I didn't really do as good a job on the head. But I want to say that also the head is a very plain sculpt imo. Maybe I should have used a Khorne champion head or something. I'm not handy with Green stuff yet so that is kind of out of the question.

Not a conversion, this is the Gamesday Archaon that was sold a few years back... I can't remember which year
