Hi guys I'm really new to warhamer 40k so help me out here? This will be easy for someone to answer I'm sure.
Using the Force organisation chart to it's maximum size does that mean I can have the following in my MARINE army:
2x HQs
3x Elites
6x Troops (which could be upto 10 men per troop right??? Which would mean 60 individual marines...am I right? cause for 16 points extra I can get 5 extra men in addition to the original 5 in a troop?)
3x fast attack
3x heavy support
And I can have this all in one huge army according to the rules???
Please help my confused newby brain! Thanks.

thats correct though it's 16 points per marine, not 16 for five.
So you could have
Calgar
Tigurus
Sternguard
Terminators
Assault Terminators
6*10 Tactical Squads
Assault Squad
Assault Squad
Bike Squad
Dev Squad
Pred
Vindi

You can also have dedicated transports for each of your troops, such as drop pods, rhinos etc

What everyone stated is correct for a standard Codex: Space Marines army.
Be aware though that if you're using a variant marine dex your potential options might be different.

If you think that 60 marines (10 per slot) is impressive, wait till you see orks. 180 orks with 30 per troops slot

Then if you really want the body count you go with 3 squads of 15 lootas, 3 squads of 20 stormboyz and 3 squads of 10 flash gitz and 2 warboss for a total of 317 bodies on the table.
The problem is trying to deploy them and the insane cost of the models.
