I love the warboss and dred, warboss is massive and the dred is wiggling his fingers in anticipation of bear hugging things to death!
I'm not sure about the nobs though, I like their top halves but am unsure I'm sold on the spindly legs.

Cool stuff, althought I must agree that the spindly meganob legs look a little bit off. But hey, Meks are an unpredictable lot!
I think you could thicken the Dread's Buzzsaw support a little bit, but other than that, that Dread is seriously great, and I may have to borrow your design idea. What did you use for the arms and legs? Are those from a transformer?

Dread is great. Really like how grot riggers coming out.
Warboss looks good like the top half and the legs but waist and hip area just don't look right.
Nobs legs look funky.
Great paint job. Also know what all them mechwarrior piece I got laying around are going to be. Killas and Deff Dreads. And one overgrown warboss.

Thanks for the critique, (and kind words), gang. I agree that the spindley legs on the MegaNobs are a bit off, though the reason I didn't swap 'em out is because I wanted to give them sort of an awkward look to reflect a bit of the goofiness that Orks sometimes possess. Still, thicker legs probably would have looked more menacing in retrospect. Alsdo, I agree about the Warboss' waist area. It does seem a bit thin, doesn't it?
To answer Baalirock's question, I snagged the arms and legs from the "Iron Monger" action figure from the Iron Man line. It was a bitch getting them off the body, but I think it was well worth it in the end.

Thank you very much... but, uh, I'm not a "sir". Automatically Appended Next Post: Borkin wrote:Love the grot riggers coming out of the hole. Seems so apropriate.
I'm glad you like them. I had fun with that aspect of the miniature.

what's the base model of those big orks?
And Yeah, I agree with the top-heaviness of the boss/nobs. It can easily be remedied by putting something on the bottom like a big loin cloth or a tabard, or something else to fill the negative space just a little.
But nice job overall. Now you just need to get ready to custm convert 100 boyz

The MegaNobz are various Golems from AT-43. The Warboss is a big robot from the original Heroscape starter set.

Yeah, that's a great idea!

Most of my boyz are already painted, with minimal customization. However, I'm getting ready to do massive customizations to convert some boyz into Kommandoz.

My favorite of the bunch is the Deff Dread - it's very cartoony and orky and full of awesome. I want to like the nobs and warboss, I really do. The proportions are just not orky enough for me. If the head of the warboss were stuck to the chest instead of on top, it'd look awesome to me. If the nobs had stocky (or at least less elegant) legs, they'd be great. As it is, I just can't quite fall in love with their asthetic, but I can definitely appreciate the work and effort put into them.

I'm not like them, but I can pretend.

The ONLY thing I dont like is how the warbosses head looks like its just jutting out from the body. Other than that I have to say those look really awesome. Like the 50s sci-fi thing your going for. Very cool so far
