Way to troll.

I'm in the same boat, updating my 3rd edition tyranids to 5th. I'd suggest hammering out an army list and seeing what you need first, but the big popular things you are missing currently are Trygons and Hive Guard.

I'd suggest 2-3 Hive Guard and at least 1 Trygon.

Might want to convert your Carnifex/OOE into a Tervigon as well.

I'll defend this guy and say it isn't a trolling post. I find pyrovores VERY useful, especially against a foot slogging army. Drop them out of a Mycetic spore and flame the bejeesus out of a squad or three.

Will they die the next shooting phase? Probably. But they are cheap, and almost always make up their points in my games. And the pod keeps shooting away as well.

dont pick pyrovores...compared to other units the are not useful.

you need at least 2 tervigons (and 20 guants) for troops and if you go for trygons...then you need at least two. You could transform your tyrant guards into Hiveguards if you dont want to buy them. Get a pod for your zoantropes and your (almost) ready to go!

No deathleaper. Its a good unit. Maybe a bit costy in points but well worth it.

Is there a consensus on base size for tervigons? I kind of like the tyrant guard models and was thinking of using them as tervigons (I was always planning to have a couple just because I like the idea of spawning more troops).

Many people are making them the giant mawloc oval base but I believe they should be a monstrous creature/dreadnought size base...no smaller

I find people just put them on the standard monstrous critter circle base since they convert a Carnifex into a Tervigon and that's the base the 'fex comes with.

Trygons are generally beastly, plus the models are beautiful, IMO.

2 more Warrior boxes and make one model a TPrime. Along with the one Warrior Box you already own - Assemble them with Deathspitters and LW&BS, pay for Toxin Sacs. Clip a Scything Talon hand off at the wrist. File the Scything Talon's blunt edge down a bit to get a more "sword" look. Re-attach 180 to make a 'sword'.

The green-stuff LW took me 2 minutes and I am *not* good at green stuff. Gob it all over the other Sything Talon, and split the end open, like the HT's LashWhip. Curve it a bit and let it hang in a position you like. It ain't perfect, but looks very much the same as the simple LW on the HTyrant. Painted, it looks fine.

I run a 7 Warrior crew, plus TPrime (older Warrior Model). They freakin' rock. 24 Deathspitter shots at BS5, *then* assault at his WS, the LWs making most enemy models bend over and take a PowerWep colonoscopy before they can strike .... freakin' sweet!

2 Hive tyrants - Make one a h2h flyrant or **
3 Zoanthropes - Give them a Mycetic Spore. I cut up a Tennis Ball and all that. Check Warseer.com for the brief Project Log, use my same "brothererekose" name.
1 Carnifex- What's his loadout?
2 Ravengers - Eh. Haven't used 'em.
5 Ripper Swarms - Can you go the whole 9? If not, then keep 'em anyway! They're a good screen.
16 Genestealers - Outflank 8. Give 'em Scything Talons only. Make the other 8 Ymgarls.
3 Tyrant Gaurd - **If you're HT is walking, then keep these.
91 term and hormagaunts - Like any footslogger, a large group does best. Without the Tervs mentioned by the other guys, go with HormaGs.
