Subject: Inspired to start a Slaanesh Army... models and variant ideas, anyone?

I was looking at some of the Fantasy range (as my IG cousin is telling about the beginnings of his Empire army) and my interest piqued at the Slaanesh Daemon army. I was there, many, many years ago when you could mix Warriors and Daemons. My ideal army was going to be based on a "Sparta" theme, gold, creme, flowing reds, bronzed to light skin, with the Daemons representing the female population from the 300 Movie. Heavy green-stuff use would ensue for the dresses, with a Slaanesh spin on them.
... and then I found out you couldn't mix them anymore. Dang.
But that still didn't dissuade me. I have a new idea, for a "painter's army" going in the opposite direction... if anyone wants the 300 Spartan theme and can rock it, go right ahead.
But I'm at a loss as to which army to choose - WoCs or Daemons... I never played with or against either separately.
I like the idea of a full "female-warrior/demon" army... so I'll be using the Daemonettes as a base... however, they're just so... so... not as good as the previous edition. My questions are as follows-
1) Any ideas for proxy daemonettes that don't have to try too hard?
2) I don't have the time nor the skill to create moulds (but might have to if I can only get my hands on 5-10 original 2nd gen daemonettes/seekers and riders)
3) For you Chaos gamers, which one do you find more "fun" and "varied" to play with- Warriors or Slaanesh-Daemons? Note, I don't mean competitive. As long as I have fun, it really makes no difference how badly I slap down other armies (or get slapped in return- the more likely of the two). 40K lost a bit of flavor after my cousin reviewed with me several "broken" IG builds...
For now, that's the start of it. It's in the embryo-idea stage, but any comments or suggestions would be welcome. Tactics, and whatnot can come later... I got a scheme and an idea... just need a bit of help getting it off the ground. Thanks in advance!

8th ed is still waiting for the dust to settle and the lists and builds to be played before we'll know the new tiers.
Daemons were way overpowered in comparison to all other armies, according to what was being reported here from tourneys, in 7th ed.
As to what to use for proxy daemonettes, off the top of my head, what about the satyxis from Privateer Press:

I don't know anything about Fantasy, but an (almost-)all-Slaanesh army tactic in 40k is to take Skarbrand the Bloodthirster. He gives rerolls to hit to anything in melee combat in 2'. This turns Daemonettes from a mediocre unit outdone in almost every way by Bloodletters into a very killy unit, since they usually go first in combat. They also become somewhat survivable, by virtue of your opponent not having many models left in combat by the time it's his turn to fight back.
But again, I know nothing about Fantasy, so I don't even know if Skar is in the codex.
In any case, I've been thinking about using these as daemonettes in my army: http://www.minos-miniatures.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/5e06319eda06f020e43594a9c230972d/1/b/1b_4.jpg - recommended by another user on this forum.
Though those Privateer ones look pretty good, too.

Hey hey! Both of those look pretty good. The Satyris ones have the super-round bases... I've seen them for Anima Tactics before... I'm not sure how disparate the scale is on Privateer Press, but the Anima Tactics claiming 28mm were kinda iffy...
I might have to test one and see how big it is compared to the standard GW... may use them to represent leaders or whatnot.
The Minos type were more of the ones I was going for... any idea about the scale of those miniatures? I have no idea, but they look D&D sized...
Damn you, GW, for getting rid of perfectly good-looking daemonettes and replacing them with rag-tag cross-dressing trash...
I might have to do a mix of the ones listed above, and bow down the GW-almighty, but greenstuff the ever-living crap to make the current range stomachable... and by stomachable, I mean look like the OOP range by Juan Diaz.
Thanks though, and keep the ideas coming!
