If you were a TO would you allow using these grot tanks (http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/GROT-TANKS.html) as warbuggies

PROSECUTOR: By now, there have been 34 casualties.

I voted yes because I didn't want to convert any so I bought some grot tanks for the same reason... Warbuggies!!!

Truly awesome little tanks! They deserve their own rules or to be used as tanks in their own right. Of course, for "ordinary" play, it is easiest to proxy them as something else, so I say "yes" to buggies.

If you want them to be pure win, be sure to convert them by adding Ork Riggerz.

TYRANID ARMY and more for sale. Many Price Drops. 40K and More.

Sure, same armor, about the same size. No current model in production, and orcs use a lot of conversions anyways.

Grot tanks can have pretty much the same weapons as a warbuggie, just model them that way.

Definately would do that.

What else could you use the grot tanks for in any event if it was a non-Forge World rules tourney (but you could still use their models)?

I've never understood why grot tanks arn't in right now. It's not like they're hard to kill...

Well, might have something to do with them just having shipped a few days ago.)

Most TO's aren't going to have had anyone ask about using the IA rules, and most TO's probably don't own a copy of IA8. I expect that when orks get a new codex in 2-10 years, they might get added.

The forge world grot tanks are just coming out, and rules were in IA8.

They weren't in any of the earlier ork codices. I don't remember anything even going back to
the early HC's like Waagh the Orks and Freebooters. Gorka morka had a Grot Cutter, which used a sail. A few people have done "counts as IG" armies using grots, but that's not really the same thing as the original topic.

(Those of you who play DoW might recognize this one)

Dunno if there were 40k rules for them or not, but I knew I had seen them around. I could swear they were in epic, too, but not sure... memory might be playing tricks on me.

The real question is will they allow the IA8 Mek codex in tourneys instead. Where you can take grot tanks with the only weapon worth taking, grotzookas.

I mean Iguard can take 12-15 AV 12/13 tanks in a single list, Why would an all walker army with AV 11/12 be so broken? It doesn't hurt to have some variation in codexes besides marines.

I voted yes on the warbuggy thing, though I'm using my scratchbuild as a killa kan. Using, however, is not really accurate, as my army list has no room for killa kans.

I am 'no' to "counts as" grot tanks as Buggies that have non-WYSWIYG weapons and non-WYSIWYG vehicle upgrades. Using the models as they are as buggies is a "proxy" and not welcome in tourneys.

I am 'yes' with "counts as" grot tanks that are WYSIWYG where the turret is modified to be a TLBS or TLrokkit or Skorcha instead of grotzookas and the player pays for the Trakk upgrade on buggies.

No to Proxies, yes to WYSIWYG.

Are you tired of players in tournaments with proxies for high priced models that they didn't have the disposable income to purchase? Do you find it irritating when they beat your five thousand dollar, pro painted, army that you spared no expense on when they have a cokebottlefex?

Or worse, they have an army that looks better then yours thanks to including non-GW IP and custom resin bits?

Then vote YES for (more) Elitist Douchbaggery at Tournaments!

After all, we can't drive this hobby into the ground if people insist on PLAYING the game!

I don't get tired of them... Every event I have ever seen bans proxies and requires WYSIWYG. So I am curious to what tourneys will cokebottlefexes be allowed to play at?

Actually, I did play against a cokebottlefex at Origins one year (Forget how long ago this was). He had been allowed to use it due to his actual fex being damaged by a member of the con staff knocking it off a table.

I thought they would make great killa cans, just add a claw to the side or top.
