So the plastic ven dread set recently came out. It's right upper arm has a slot in it so that different weapons can be inserted into it. But there is no autocannon option. Is there any autocannon, perhaps an IG one, which fits in there nicely enough?

Second, what is the easiest way to get an autocannon on a dread's left arm? Thanks in advance.

I'll be doing these conversions myself soon. I think the Exterminator autocannons from the Leman Russ kit look very dread-like and if you have any skill with putty it'll be dead easy to put them on a venerable dread's gun arm. For the left side arm you have the option of spending a little dough and ordering from Forgeworld (They make autocannons in left and right configurations) or you could use the plastic missile launcher arm as a base. Putty over the upper front of the arm and sand it to a smooth armor surface, glue your autocannons to the bottom front of it. (you could do the same thing for that matter with a ccw arm too)
I may order the FW parts for the simplicity of having matched pieces that look the same. I could make left and right arms easily but getting them to look like mirrors of each other exactly would be tricky

Exterminator autocannons. Cool. I'll have to track one of those down.

As for the left side, I assume using a right handed ven dread arm but upside down would look too stupid?
