I saw the previous question from before the model was released that based on the picture, the launcher was turret mounted. Now that we have an official GW model where there is no turret, what should the ruling be now? Base the rule off of the drawing or the model?

What does it look like it can do? Use that.
If firing as Barrage however, it doesn't matter, since it doesn't need LOS.

I think that, since the present edition is so big on "true line of sight" you have to gauge what exactly the model itself is capable of shooting. That said, if I was playing against you I don't think I'd have any issue with assuming it's on a turret.

Yeah if I was in that circumstance, I would allow it to be turret-mounted, as I can imagine the rockets being able to strike anywhere on the battlefield.

it is not a turret weapon
i say 45 degee field of vision like hull mounted - so needs to face general direction it is firing in but does not need LOS on target unit Automatically Appended Next Post: this is based on the GW model which i own

The FW one IS a turret though.
You go with what your model has (the rules even say this).
Like Gwar said, for barrage, it doesn't really matter, as LOS isn't needed.

It actually matters quite a bit, as the weapon does still need to be pointed at the target.
We had a thread discussing this not so long ago here.

i still think you have to point the weapon in the right direction - i dont think it is possible for the GW manticore or a basilisk to be able to fire back over themselves at a target behind them
and this may effect the all important armour facings to nearby enemies
these small thing can have a big impact to how the game plays out Automatically Appended Next Post: insaniak wrote:chromedog wrote:Like Gwar said, for barrage, it doesn't really matter, as LOS isn't needed.
