Havent been able to make it to FLGS for about a month due to work and a demanding schedule. I wanted to know what the Percentages are in 8th Edition. I am trying to build a new DE list for 8th and I am unable to do so.

Also, for those of you who have gazed upon the BRB, how is the new Magic Items selection. What about the new spells for the spells for the 8 Lores? Are they as good as I hear?

It is:

25% max lords
25% max heroes
25% min core
50% max special (max 3 duplicate choices)
25% max rare (max 2 duplicate choices)

The spells/lores are awesome! I'll definitely be getting the cards, though, as it's a lot to remember and keep track of since it's all new.

I don't know why so many people ask about percentages, its been asked like 3 times in each thread about 8th, and then answered.

Magic is strong but not without its risks now. Miscast and irresistible force are the same now. To show your wizard casting the spell but losing control doing so. And if you miscast badly you can fry him and any models near him with a strength 10 explosion. I can see some people trying a miscast on purpose if they see their mage is going to die anyway just so they can try take a unit down with them.

You can't build a legal list before the errata-pdf for the new edition is out.

8th ed sounds like a bad idea to me plus the books it over sized and over priced at £45 and most of that is the fluff not rules.

I'm a DE player too and I see 8th and the new magic rules screwing us over big time. (at least as from what I've read of the book so far and talking to my store manager.)

You can get a basic idea for a list pre-errata.

However there are some very very nice shiny new magic items in the new book!

Thank you RiTides. This is very helpful and it now justifies my COK Hammer unit. Also, Karon, I am aware of the many times this has been posted. Although, I cannot for the life of me find any of them. This made it much easier on me and this is correct.I've read something about rare choice only being 15% max. Well thanks again everyone and I believe im going to run a highly CC oreinted DE army with mage support, not mage domination.

Also note that you can take 6 of the same specials and 4 of the same rares in a 3k (or higher) battle.
