just had a depat with some guy on youtube. The subject was, if the Imperium of Man faced off against the Galactic Empire who would win?
I gotta place my bet on the Imperium of Man. what do you guys think?

This one has been debated for ages. But, my vote is Imperium. Only the super star destroyer is on the scale of 40k ships. Plus any ship has the capabilities to kill an entire populace, not just the Death Star.

Can't really be compared, I think. There's the usual issues with comparing one sci-fi setting to another, but 40k is just so far OTT compared to the other normal settings (Star Wars, Star Trek, ect.) and any comparison is even more meaningless. That said, I think Vader would wipe out the entire first company of the Ultramarines before they knew what hit them.

Jedi/Sith heavy Galaxy I think The Imperium might have issues, but still most likely win. Although Star Wars has lots more "shielding" tech, as in enough to shield a full planet.. soo I don't know.
