Hello once again, I'm pretty good at asking n00by questions

I'm not new to WH40K at all, but now that I'm playing an army that actually LOOKS good I want to make sure it stays looking good

With my previous army, my metal models would get the paint chipped off when transporting them

I never really cared since they didn't look too great anyway, but now I do care

What's the best way to transport metal models without damaging the finish? Should I just buy one of those carrying cases?

Coating them with varnish will also help greatly.

Just be sure to use matt varnish and not gloss tho!

Two coats of varnish.

Gloss - for the protection factor.
Matt over the top of this to dull the shine.

Do this and you should reduce your chippage to negligible amounts (and they won't react to greasy chip fingers either).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Ya, it works great, I've dropped models with this on them and had little to no chipping.(onto wood/concert floor) i find that the thicker Vallejo varnishes work best for this.
best of luck with your minis.
