I am wondering if anyone has any advice or suggestions on painting good "scorch" marks. Like what you would see on the bottom of a drop pod or around the nozzles of a jet engine.
Maybe a tutorial someone has seen online? I tried just dry brushing black on but that looked like...black paint dry brushed on.

Scorched brown with calthan brown and graveyard earth highlights looks pretty good. Throw a little boltgun metal in there for a realistic approach.
