Do monsterous mounts for lords count as lord percentage or hero percentage? Most of the mounts like dragons say they take a hero slot so does that mean they take Hero percentage?

I would have to think that it goes under the cost of the character, so if a lord is riding a dragon the total goes to lord"s 25%. But I have been wrong before =-)

How my local gaming store is running it is that you devide the cost of the model between the two slots. Ie a model that costs 560 points would cost 280 points in the hero and lord slots.

I'd say that if your lord rides a dragon. Then all its all lord points.
Hero riding a dragon its all hero points.
As choices dont matter any more and the mounts are upgrades for the hero/lord not seperate units.
Otherwise you just get 2 lords on dragons in 2000point game lol they will be badly equipped but Dragons are cool.
This is what i thought the new rules was supose to stop but it looks like herohammer is stronger then ever! and i loves it

See this Is why I really don't like this percentage crap. It's going to stop you playing the games you like with the lists you want.
A high end lord (maybe with a dragon) and no over heros should fit into a 2000 point game. This can't happen now and it pisses me off.
Take Malekith for example. You could put him on a dragon and he'd be half your army and it was still balanced and fair. Now with 8th edition you'll be luck to play him in anything under 4000.

This is what i love about this edition honestly.
No more lists with an expensive as hell lord, some expensive hero's, min core , a special or two and max rares.

a dragon is a hero, so it would use the hero percentages, but say its a juggernaut of Khorne, that monsterous mount is still in the lord slots. I believe it was only things like dragons that are specifically mentioned to be a character

Same goes for slots for some people. Poor gobbos who couldn't get all the heroes they'd like.

Slots were awful - a gobbo hero is not equivalent to a WoC hero, yet you could still only have 4 of them in a 2k points army.
%ages means that you now have to face some slightly tougher guys than usual, and less "eggs in one basket" situation. I quite like the thought of massed gobbo ranks with a goblin hero in each to give them a chance of not panicking off the board first enemy shooting phase!

Personally My groups gone with if a mount require a hero slot ... all the points for the mount go toward the max you can take for the heroes. Only time we have trouble is things that take a hero and lord slot (or two of any)... after debate we've gone they're uber special and should count towards both

From what my local store manager was able to tell me the other day. Anything that counted as a hero in the last edition (like dragons) should count as heroes in 8th.

qft. What I have gathered and IMHO I think mounts go with the character. A lord on a dragon is all lord % and a hero on a mount would be all hero %. Otherwise you will have maxed out lords (multiple lords) riding dragons as heroes. I would think in most cases a dragon is better than most heroes. In a 3k list you can get 2 dragons and still have enough for a hero, while your lords can be maxed out, even being able to squeeze in 2 dreadlords and a level 4 sorceress. At least that is my opinion, but like Shivan said, we all have to wait for the errata.
