So, with his ability to ignore miscasts, and ease of casting Deliverance at the 5+ rank in the new rules (level 4 mage = +4 to cast), does that make him much more dangerous then before?
Conversely, why would anyone use Tetto'eko now?

I am honestly wondering how kroak is going to be erratad, cause right now with enough power dice he could cast the highest level version twice, assuming he got some and not get hurt.
If he is left be, that gak is going to hurt.
Honestly i see an errata saying he ignores the miscast effect, but the spell fails.

It remains to be seen, but I honestly don't expect a real errata like most people are. I think they are only going to clear up rules that may be outdated by this new edition, and not actually doing any balancing.

Q: How many of a specific demographic group are required to carry out a simple task?
A: An arbitrary number. One to carry out the task in question, and the remainder to act in a manner stereotypical of the group.

Kroak costs 600 points, which, assuming that 25% thing is true, he can't even exist in games <2400 points. And he can only cast 1 spell. Sure, the spell is supertastically powerful, but it's something to consider.
For about the same cost you can get 2 Slann Mage-Priests who are "real" lvl 4 mages. If they both took Focused Rumination, that's a pretty insane amount of power dice flying around.

I attended a playtest night at a FLGS last night and used a SMP as a Kroak stand in.
No other characters.
He was insane.
In a unit of templeguard (now unbreakable thanks to Kroak) I launched him straight at the middle of the enemy line (Skaven) and then proceeded to drop the 24 inch spell first turn (we started 18 inches apart), then dropped the 12-18 inch spell twice per turn (didn't go off at all 4 times, and completely absent 1 turn thanks to dispelling, but still went off 7 times)
NOTE: We decided that he adds 4 power dice to the pool, up to the 12 max as per his rules, as we have no errata.
He irrisistable forced 3 times, but ignoring miscasts is brilliant for him.
The unit demolished (but was flanked by a unit of 15 HW&Sh saurus and 1 unit of 20 spear saurus in support) x2 units 30 giant rats, x2 units 30 clanrats, x1 unit 50 stormvermin with screaming bell and greyseer - directly engaged this unit for 3 turns.
In the end there were only 5 TG left from the original 20, and the HW&shield saurus were wiped out, but the spear ones worked very well.
Getting Kroak into the middle of an infanrty battle line is where he needs to be, He struggles vs really heavily armoured cav and super big monsters but shines in almost every other situation. Automatically Appended Next Post: Also- as the screaming bell takes up a huge swathe of the front, I was able to engage one side of the front of the stormvermin unit (it was 10 wide) and a large portion of their attacks from the unit were wasted.
The giant plague censer thingy would have killed me very quick.
