Prob a dumb question (but if you don't ask you don't know) are Prayers of Sigmar magic spells, and therfore can be dispelled, or divine bonuses for priests that cant be dispelled?

Cheers, Mick

They count as bound spells, and may be dispelled, but I can't be bothered to walk all the way to the other end of the house to find the exact page in the Empire Army book where it says so.

it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

The Empire book says they cast 'like' bound spells, this is what made me ask. If it said 'are' bound spells all would be clear...

I've always played that they can be dispelled.

All i think cast like bound spells is meant to address is the fact that you dont use power dice and they auto cast at a specified power level.

Yes they can be dispelled like normal spells - just don't require casting dice to use. Soon as 8th hits, they should require power dice to successfully cast.

For those who have seen those GW stores preview copies, they most certainly do require dice to cast now

Empire Army Book, p.53: "Prayers are cast exactly like bound spells with a power level of 4."

There is a small but important semantic difference between 'like' and 'exactly like'. Can bound spells be dispelled? Yes they can! They wouldn't tell you the power level of a prayer unless you needed to know it, and the only reason you'd need to know it is for purposes of dispelling.
