Title really says it all.

I'm very reluctant shelling out six dollars for GW plastic glue, especially since there's so little of it.

So are there any other good plastic glues out there?

Preferably one without the thick nozzle of the GW glue.

Revelle (watch the spelling) the plastic kit people similar to Airfix do a plastic glue, much cheaper then GW and it has a great metel needle dispenser.

The GW stuff is about the worst on the market.

The best type to get is the liquid cement like this one. You apply it with a brush. It just runs into the join, dissolves the edges and melts them together.

There are various brands. Be careful not to drink or inhale it.

It is useful to have some of the thicker stuff sometimes. The Revell cement is pretty good.

Personally I only use super glue from the local supermarket, it's dirt cheap and it bonds both plastic and metal. And if needed it's easy to break apart the joints (for when reconverting, etc.).

But if you really want liquid cement go with what KillKrazy said.

+1 on the Revell contacta stuff. Comes in four types.

1) Usual "gunge"(tm) in a tube.
2) Jar of liquid with brush in lid.
3) Bottle with metal nozzle (lighter blue bottle)
4) Professional. Dark bottle (as shown), bottle is on a lean, so is harder to make fall over. Slimmer needle applicator to the #3.

All are cheaper than GW "gunge in a bottle"(tm)(*R) and do better jobs. Humbrol and Testors also do similar products to #3/4 but with a plastic nozzle/metal nozzle (two types).

Humbrol Poly Cement For Plastic Model Kits.

I've used this stuff ever since I was a kid, tried different brands over the year but keep coming back to it.

Like the Revell glue comes in various types/sizes.

Buy it online.

Revell is an American company, it should be easy to find in the USA.

If you use the brush on type, bin the brush that comes with it & apply with an oldish spare paint brush.
You get much better control & therefore results.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

While that Plastruct liquid cement posted above does work well, it's worth pointing out that once used, it is literally impossible to remove if it makes a good join. In my experience, you sometimes want to be able to break a bond if you need to. As such, I'd recommend Loctite Super Glue - Ultra Gel over plastic cements.

Cheap testors works incredibly well. But like any other plastic glue, the bond is pretty much it unless you slice parts off.

Testors, in the ORANGE tube. I've used it for years and it rocks. If you have experience and a steady hand like I have you can use it straight from the tube but it may glop out too thick for someone unused to it. They sell little reducer tips you can put on for a thinner line but I've never been comfortable with them. They also make stuff in a green tube and a blue tube I think one is for wood and one is a "less toxic" plastic glue for kids (don't waste your time with it)
The trick is DON'T SQUEEZE THE TUBE. Just let it run out by gravity, maybe give it a little squeeze when you know it's getting empty. The tube is metal and if you crush it half the contents will squeeze out and there's no way to slow it down.

I used Revell's good old contacta in the funny-shaped pot with the dropper needle over the past 15 years and have yet to find a better plastic glue. Should be easy to acquire throughout the globe as well.

Yup thats the stuff. I had to teach my wife that as well. She just squeezed it like you do with most glue tubes
I had to go buy a new tube of the stuff. But yea its like .97 cents a tube and works awesome for the plastics.
