Hi There,
Following the release of the second edition of Warhammer Ancient Battles to widespread acclaim, lead writer Martin Gibbins has put together a detailed FAQ with the assistance of WABforum and WABlist members.
This document is available to download from the Warhammer Historical website here, and we have also put together a handy quick reference sheet to save you from flipping through the rulebook mid-game which you can find here.
The lavish new edition of Warhammer Ancient Battles is extensively illustrated with a plethora of diagrams, artwork and photographs of painted models, as you can see from these sample page spreads here and here.
The book also features a selection of new special rules covering the unique doctrines, cultures and weaponry of ancient times in order to add even greater depth and enjoyment to your games. There are also fully revised army lists for Romans and Barbarians, and a selection of sample army rosters from across the ancient periods, from the Egyptians of the New Kingdom to the Crusades.
This full colour large format 216 page hardback book features a fully updated and extensively revised set of rules for playing the epic battles of the ancient world. The new rulebook is £32, and is available to order here exclusively from Warhammer Historical.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Anyone on Dakka pick up the new WAB rules?
The new edition has smoothed out a lot of the rough spots from the 1st edition. So far I find it well worth the investment in a new rule book.

I seriously think I'm going to pick this up and do a Norse Viking army. It doesn't matter I won't have anyone to play against.

Dakka, what is good in life?

See their user posts driven before you,

Use the Wargames Factory Vikings for the bulk of your troops.

Those guys in the flesh are some of Wargames Factory's best work so far.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money. |

They won't like you for doing it. They want to sell Spase Mariens.
