That list looks quite good. The only thing I'm unsure about is the krox/skink unit. Have you been able to test it out under 8th rules?
Also, I wonder if you don't quite have enough skinks to give a cover screen to your saurus. I suppose with T4 and a 4+ save you don't need as much as some other guys do, but imposing penalties on BS based shooting is pretty handy. 10 might be able to do it though. I'd have to see it on table.
salamanders are gross now

I think you are trying too hard to make the skink chief survivable. The stegodon already grants him a 2+ armor save, so the shield is really not needed. The pendant effectively gives him an extra wound, but he is still too weak in combat to make an extra turn worth it.
You would be better of with the spear, if you intend to make him a fighter, or the helm if he is there for leadership.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the advice. Shep, the reason I use such big blocks of skink/kroxigor is to keep that stubborn leadership (most likely will have more ranks than my opponent) with the battle standard close by. They move fast, so they have a decent time holding things up until bigger meaner things can join their combat. Still, that is the one unit have have been hesitant with, but since they haven't let me down so far, I'm going to keep running them. As for the unit of skinks, they are solely there to support my skink priest, not screen saurus.
Durandal, I agree with you in that the stegadon war spear would be much more affective, however, for 2000 points, there is no way I could field it (brings me to 505 points...). Having additional leadership only brings him to the same level as my oldblood who is already the army general. I chose the amulet of itzl to keep him relatively safe from cannon/bolt throwers, which a stegadon is constantly targeted by. He is a vital contribution to this list being the battle standard, so keeping him alive is crucial. And lastly, I had 2 extra points so I gave him a shield for the hell of it. The only time it would come in handy is if the stegadon dies and he has to run around on foot haha. Even then, it's just a 6+ save...
