Recently it came to my mind that often when we game mistakes are made. Often though these are small and dont overly have any great impact on the game. However sometimes the mistakes we make can cost us the game and are more amusing for our opponents and ourselves when we look back on them. I'll start us off with a recent experience of mine:
On the last turn of an Apocalypse battle me and my ally were in control of 1 objective, ur oponents in control of 1, with the remainder heavily contested. In a bid to wrest control of my allies home objective back into our hands from its contested staus I sent over every 'spare' model I had. This included a squad of necron warriors sent across the board via a Lords Veil of Darkness.
Only after the movement phase was over did I suddenly realise what it was I'd done. That Warrior squad was the one thing holding my own home objective. Subsequently the enemy were now winning. I was literally kicking myself, especially when they made little difference to the objective I sent them to, which remained contested.
On a side note I did redeem my honour by cleansing an enemy objecive of all defenders and claiming it myself. The game ended 1-1.
Any Gaming Blunders you've commited that you feel inclined to share with the wider dakka community

I have had many gaming blunders, I will list two:
1) O'shavah Deep Strikes near my objective, the next turn i forgot he was there and didn't shoot at him at all! Next turn my objective goes: BOOMY
2) Forgot my Chapter master has a 4+ Invunlnerable Save and suffers instant death from a Death Rolla

I keep on forgetting that tank shock occurs in the movement phase, not the assault phase, which has prevented me from chasing away many an enemy

When i started implementing Daemonic Possession on my Vindies i forgot that shaken and stunned results dont affect them. On the last turn of the game my opponent was on my home objective and in his phase he stunned 2 Vindies close by and i didnt do anything with them even though i was within 12" with both!

Deffrolla's don't ignore armor saves...if your chapter master had a 2+ or 3+ save he was allowed to take it.
Recently I played a game where you won by either killing or capturing the enemy's HQ. I chose to 'capture' it instead of killing it, and died in a subsequent assault which allowed his HQ to return to play. On his turn, he assaulted my tervigon, killing it with a power fist, and won the game.
shame shame.

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it. |

I kept my deffkoptas in reserve in one game, to flank the next turn and blow up my mate’s Leman Russes… and the forgot about them for the rest of the game. It was 180 points worth out of a 1500 point list.
All through the game it felt like he had so many more points on the board than I did, and at the end I was confirming his was a 1500 point list, and talking about how my utter thrashing seemed inevitable and I didn’t have the AT assets I really needed and then “ohhhh…”

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

I forgot Kharn rolled 2d6 against armor value units and when he rolled 2 1's in combat alongside my defilers...well my face went red in anger at the result of him being alone at the end.

I've done this before. With a Khorne army.
I also forget Night Fight all the time, but I'm slowly getting better with that...

I burned through a five turn game in twenty minutes. My serpents ended up moving around not to the objectives since I though it was still turn 2~4.
Ended up losing since he rolled and the game ended.
