Hi all
If in Psychic power mentioned that it's shooting do I need to pass balistics for it ?
What about Murderous Hurricane? do I need to pass it on all 3D6 hits?

1) You only need to pass the psychic test
2)No you just need to pass the psychic test once and then the target takes 3D6 hits automatically

But Tyranid codex for example mentioned shooting attack and auto hit.
Do I need pass it for Living Lightning?
If not I really don't see the point in Choser Of The Slain besides restricting scouts in some way

I may be wrong, but I had been playing it as 1. declare target and power 2. take psyhcic test 3. roll to hit 4. roll to wound etc....
Why else would chooser of the slain give you a +1 ballistic skill improvement? Surely thats for shooting your psychic powers

Any psychic shooting attack that does not specify how it hits its target(s) is treated just like any other ranged weapon.
In other words, for Living Lightning, you must pass a psychic test, roll a D6 for the number of shots, then roll to hit and wound with however many shots you get.
For a power like Murderous Hurricane, however, it simply states that it is a PSA (important for cover saves if necessary), and after passing the test, the target unit takes 3D6 S3 hits. So no need to roll to hit for those, since the power specifies what happens.
You always only roll one test for each power.

Re: supposed uselessness of Chooser of the Slain. It wouldn't be worth 10 points if all it did was raise BS by 1 in LoS, so it doesn't matter if it is irrelevant in the case of Murderous Hurricane

I'm fairly sure that psychic shooting attacks are treated exactly like guns. So normally you need to pass a psychic test then run to hit and wound like a gun. The exception is that some psychic attacks do not use a gun profile. In the case of murderous hurricane a unit takes 3D6 "hits" so there is no need to roll to hit you just need to wound.

If it says it hits automatically, then you don't worry about BS. If it says nothing about hitting you roll with your BS.
