I'm super new to Warmachine and trying to develop a tournament quality list before I scythe out and purchase an entire army.
So 50pt list..
Lich Lord Asphyxious
Banelord Tartarus
Warwitch Siren
Warwitch Siren
Withershadow Combine
10 Bane Knights
10 Mechanithralls, 2 Brutes
Seether
Seether
Nightwrench
Nightwrench
...
eGaspy likes the Knights.
Seethers are self sufficient giving me more points to spam spells with.
Nightwrenches are just cheap eyes for eGaspy.
At 35pts..
eGaspy
BLT
Siren
Siren
10 Knights
10 Mechanithralls, 1 Brute
Seether
Nightwrench
Nightwrench

There is a thin semantic line between weird and beautiful. And that line is covered in jellyfish. |

Actually it's wretch as in wretch, hence the W.
Main Entry: wretch
Pronunciation: \ˈrech\
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English wrecche, from Old English wrecca outcast, exile; akin to Old High German hrechjo fugitive, Old English wrecan to drive, drive out — more at wreak
Date: before 12th century
1 : a miserable person : one who is profoundly unhappy or in great misfortune
2 : a base, despicable, or vile person
Though on reevaluation, I'm pretty sure they intended for us to recognise both interpretations. Wretch as in miserable little creature, and retch as in its method of attack...
English lessons aside, the lists seem pretty solid to me. I personally haven't had much luck with eGaspy so I've sort of given up on him for now...

It's hardly an english lesson lol.
I know the name I just typed it incorrectly, as I'm watching Stargate at the same time.
Gaspy/eGaspy is basically the reason I'm playing Cryx.. The models are so neat.

No arguments there man. Cryx is the reason I'm getting into Warmachine myself. That and Khador's jacks/Legion's warbeasts, which is somewhat ironic as I've grown to hate Legion intensely.

I only posted because I have been seeing "nightwrench" popping up in a lot of lists, and you mentioned being new.
For some reason, when I searched "wretch" on dictionary.com I got no returns.
I dropped the W and got the definition that was what I thought it meant, and went with it.
As far as background goes, PP probably meant for both definitions to be applicable. They are crafty like that.

I would suggest in the 50pnt list atleast to test out a Cankerworm. I think you will be happy with his ability to hit and run softening up targets for your units.

The Deathjack is too good with either Gaspy to pass up. He generates two focus as long as he has his arms and can cast the warcaster's spells. I'd drop a Seether and go min Knights and that should pay for him.
Save the other Seether though in case the WSC ever wreck a jack. Having a Seether pop up and go "SURPRISE!" is always a good thing (for you that is). First time I ever played against the WSC, I was running a pVlad Jack Bullet list and they got the wrecking blow on two of my jacks. That was bad(tm) to say the least.

The lists look good enough. I am liking the Seether lately myself.
You may consider building just the 35pt list. Get about 6 months of games to figure the game out, and find your preferences.
You might end up with totally different choices.
Also, maybe build a 25pt list and start there instead.
Something like:
eGaspy
Siren
Min Knights
Max McThralls, Brute
Seether
Nightwretch
Nightwretch
Don't have my cards, so guessing on the points. The sauce is 4, siren 2, and I think the jump to full knights is +4.
You might also consider a unit of Bane Thralls instead of knights.
1 pt cheaper, with Dark Shroud, so they hit a little harder.
Plus if you have a min unit, you can pick up Goreshade later, and have his Feat covered.

Wait.
Thralls hit harder than Knights?

Both hit for 4d6 on the charge with P/S 11 BUT the thralls give -2 armor.

Yes, Dark Shroud gives a -2 ARM to enemy within melee (.5") of a Bane Thrall.
The trade off between Knights and Thralls is a preference. You get Vengeance, Ghostly, and Reach vs. Stealth and Dark Shroud.
I play Denny1 so I can give Ghostly. So I usually take Thralls, cuz that -2ARM stacks with all her other de-buffs.
In the right conditions you can have a jack at total of -7ARM.
Hit it with a shadow bind from Denny or a Siren and Oh Yeah.
Sometimes it is good to split a Bane off from the main charge to get an enemy jack. Then you can charge with McThralls and they get the benefit of Dark Shroud.
Now that I have the UA for Bane Thralls, I rarely build a list without them.
