I have a warhound. Yay!

I need to ask:

What products should I use to clean the resin? I am in the UK so availability is important.
What glue should I use? Again - location!
Pinning?

Any other advice would be nice too.

For my Warhound and Reaver I simply used washing up liquid and water to clean the pieces, giving them a heavy scrub with an old toothbrush.

For glue, you must use superglue. I used a product, I think it was called "Zap" something. It was in a white bottle with a green lable.

The parts which would be under the most strain would be the legs and the hips. These would require large amounts of pinning to hold them securely. I simply used paperclips as pins and they hold fine.

Good luck with the project.

I found a generous doseage of Bostick / UHU type general purpose household glues with a liberal squirt of the super glue of your choice worked pretty well for my Warhound.

Secure the parts with solder or narrow guage wire (or bits of duct / sticky tape) to keep the glued pieces in place for 24 - 48 hours till everything is solid & you can clean off any glue residue that flows out between joins afterwards.

Once it's dried you're good to go, but be sure you're happy with the positioning of parts before it all dries. You can carefully break of pieces if they don't sit just right, but mine has held up under its own weight for about two years quite happily now.

If it's stupid & it works, it's not stupid.

Cool, thanks for the advice.

Just a couple more questions:

Are bases better or does the model balance well on it's own?

Any experience with 2-part epoxy stuff? Would it be good and what products are the best to buy?

Cheers for the tips and, Valkyrie, your titans look amazing. Dhugs, does yours have a thread?

For piccies of my Wardoggie just check out my gallery photos by clicking on my name & clicking under the 'Gallery images' text.

I'm mooting a base that I can use for my W'hound to allow me to use it in 'anger' on the table without being worried it will take a nose dive if the table gets jogged. The questions I have to ask are;

Can I make it detachable (for transport) whilst keeping it effective

Do I go for blasted city scape, trench warfare muddy, wooded or plains style grassy (or have one of each)?

Choices, choices...

If it's stupid & it works, it's not stupid.

Thanks very much

It depends on the way the legs are posed, but Titans usually stand up on their own, but if you're looking for a more "extreme" pose, then you'll want to consider making a base.

I've used 2 part epoxy before, can't remember the brand name, but IMO, it was no different from superglue.
