This is the list I was thinking of for the 1k range Ive played ulthwe theme in the past and am looking forward to that play style and the look on the table

HQ
Farseer-Doom, SS, Fortune (130)

Troops
10 Storm Guardians 2 flamers+ Warlock, Destructor (127)
Wave Serpent- EML, Chin cannon, SS (140)

10 Guardian Defenders, Scatter laser + Warlock, Embolden (125)

Heavy Support
Night Spinner -HF (150)

3 Warwalkers- Scatter Lasers (180)

Wraith Lord- BL, EML (155)

The farseer rides with the storm guardians dooming their target and fortuning their wave serpent to make sure it hits its target, the Guardian Defenders, Wraithlord, and Night Spinner castle up hold an objective. War walkers outflank or are just deployed normally based on the shooting power of my opponent

Some questions
#1 Do I have the right powers on the Farseer? In the 750pt version of this I just had Doom and the Sprit stones and fortune were just a point filler I wasn’t sure on

#2 Are HF worth it on a tank that is normally 50+ inches from its target and can fire from cover?

#3 Am I lacking in any areas? Ive played this list once and tabled a tau player, but the dice were not kind to him that game.

Just curious as to what everyone thinks of this and any and all help is appreciated

Well, the list looks not bad.

ad 1. Ask yourself, what is the Farseer fortuning?
ad 2. Holofields are not worth the pts since the Night Spinner has a very long range and needs no LoS.
ad 3. It should be fine at the 1000 pt level. It lacks cc, but hey, you have a WL.

Well I know im digging up an old thread here but I though it better to edit this one rather than post a new one since this list is really just a tweak of the original one

Farseer-Doom, SS, Guide (120)

Troops
10 Dire Avengers w/ Exarch dual cats, Bladestorm (152)
Wave Serpent- EML, SS (130)

10 Guardian Defenders, Scatter laser + Warlock, Embolden (125)

Heavy Support
Fire Prism -HF (150)

3 Warwalkers- Scatter Lasers (180)

Wraith Lord- BL, EML (155)

Basically my question is where to cut points im currently 12 over the 1k mark and I just would like to know how other players would trim the list

My thought is to make the DA squad 9 strong (but i would really like to keep as many as possible since they will be modeled as Black guardians to keep with the Ulthwe theme and to better represent them as professional soldiers ill be using DA stat line)

Any help or comments are greatly appreciated

So, I assume the Farseer sticks with the Defenders and keeps Guide on the Warwalkers. Doom might actually be the thing to drop. I usually love doom, but all of your guns are S6+, so it may not have much use apart from MC. The Dire Avengers's target will probably be outside of doom range anyway.

My plan is usually to put the farseer with the dire avengers that serpent usually hangs out in the vicinity of my fire base early game guiding the prism for anti armor or walkers for ripping though infantry then zipping out to capture/contest objectives late game or snag the 1 extra KP so I want them to have the impact to sweep that unit my opponent hold back to camp his objective so the idea was a doom+guide bladestorm for that extra punch

Fire Prisms are different animals than Night Spinners, Take 2 or take none. I would switch your lord for another Fire Prism.

I'm not a huge fan of Guardian Defenders on foot. I would replace them with a squad of jetbikes with a cannon, and an embolden spear lock. More mobile, better vs armor, and you still get a bs3 s6 weapon. woo.

that gives your list considerably more speed.

I like the Storms in the first list more than the Dire Avengers in the second, but I'm weird.

for example, this is really the kind of list I envision

Farseer- doom, warding

5 Fire Dragons
Wave Serpent- tl shuri

10 Storm Gu + Warlock- 2 flamers, destructor
Wave Serpent- tl eml

3 Gu Bikes + Warlock- cannon, spear, embolden

3 War Walkers- shuri cannons

Fire Prism

Fire Prism

you lose holofields, but you pick up an additional wave serpent, and fire dragons, as well as your entire army (save the walkers) is fast. I know people like scatters, but I can't resist 40 point walkers, out flank em, take rear armor shots, charge into fire support, they are really a versatile unit.

Under your bed.

Alternatively, for a bit of fun why not ditch the Prism and take another Lord.
EG:

Farseer- doom, RoWarding

10 Storm Guardians - 2 Flamers + Warlock w/ Destructor
Wave Serpent- tl shuricannons, underslung shuricannon, spirit stones

10 Guardians w/ eml + Warlock - embolden, spiritseer

6 Gu Bikes + Warlock- 2 cannons, embolden, spear

3 War Walkers- shuri cannons

Wraithlord - eml, bl

Wraithlord - eml, scatter laser

999

Wraithlords sit up back and babysit the Guardians in cover. Spiritseer fires at BS4 and prevents wraithsight.
Walkers outflank as per akaean's model and bikes give extra all-round support and objective hunt.

Ignore all that. I know nothing.

Alright so here is kind of a fusion of the lists suggested akaean and Danu

Farseer- Doom, RoWarding (95)

10 Storm Guardians w/ 2 Flamers + Warlock, Destructor (127)
Wave Serpent- EML, SS (130)

6 Jetbikes w/ 2 Cannons + Warlock, Embolden Singing Spear (205)

6 Fire Dragons (96)
Wave Serpent-Cannons, SS (110)

3 Warwalkers- Cannons (120)

Night Spinner (115)

Total 998

Is this more on the money as far as subtle tweaks are concerned?

Under your bed.

Yup that looks like fun, if a little soft on anti-tank now.

I still like an EML WL instead of the Spinner for 115.
More flexible, draws fire away from squishy troops, better AT and CC and it gives your Farseer someone to hang out with.

My concern with the current version of the list is under utilizing Doom the only thing that isn't str 6 and up really is the Storm Guardians and they will only disembark when necessary normally not hitting more than 2 units, I debated about guide but most of my weaponry is TL or BS 4 and the walkers are outflanking so i have no guarantee ill be anywhere close to 6" from them, Mind war is out since I cant use it out of a tank so that leaves fortune which puts me over my point limit

I really cant see a good option here...
