Late last year, we noticed that the walls of our house were moving away from our house. That's kind of disturbing.
Turns out, it wasn't the walls of the house moving away, but rather, the basement walls collapsing inwards. This required some major renovation work, that cost way too much money. Guys had to come in, excavate around the front and back walls of the house, and push the foundation back into place.
Initially, things looked pretty scary:
But, as they got going, it started to look better, if a little orky:
This was the state as they left it:
So, starting Friday night, I've been redoing my game room setup. I had a 4x8 table in the basement before, and it's still there. But, I figured if I relocated the dryer, I could fit a second table. This involved running new electrical conduit and dryer venting, but got done. Then I set to making the second table. This one is 4x4, with casualty/deployment gutters, and two 2x4 extentions, that extend it to a 4x8 maximum size. Plus, it's on wheels, making it easy to move around.
You can see the slots where the extentions mount.
Spent the next few days relocating all the basement stuff back to the basement, and making terrain boards that not only cover the table, but also bridge the gap between the old table and the new one, for apocalypse games:
There's more terrain available, I just didn't get it all out for the photos, these are just the really big pieces that don't fit in the white bins under the table.
Army storage along the back wall:
I got a bunch of cheap poster frames for the various posters that come with
IA books, and got them up on the walls, along with some other gaming posters. There's also the paperback fiction library shelves in the corner:
Beer fridge, very important for gaming.
It's the floating table illusion:
And I also made a new stand for a game-room laptop, providing tunes and rules lookup. Here's one of the terrain storage cabinets, and rules library too:
So, that's the new game room setup. Inaugural game to follow soon
