Had a pretty depressing loss yesterday vs a friend of mine and his 3rd ed playstyle Blood Angels. Mostly jump infantry, death company w. lemartes, 1 rhino tac squad, a librarian w. honor guard and assault termies.

1500 pts, I'm using my competitive league list with lash sorc, 2 zerker squads, 2 plagues, daemons, termicide, oblits and 1 chaos marine squad. Full mech'd and just was decimating him until a zerker squad just failed to hit and wound 2 rounds in a row and lash failed to go off which would have given me the charge on his death company which in turn he charged me, slaughtered a plague marine squad and the full chaos marine squad and the game just went down hill from there. I learned from this that to never get out of the transports at all unless need be. Still, losing like this after crushing many a competitive player in the league left me sour mouthed and never had a battle gone so one sided against me.

Anyone else experience something this bad?

I had a depressing loss at 'ardboyz... I played my mech marines, drew a monstrous creatures nid player for the final round (I was in 2nd, he was in 1st).

Final score of the game - 9-8, in favor of me.

factor in the wacky killpoint bonus for killing mother fething rhinos, he's up to 15-9, major win for him. Gayer than all holy hell. Made me want to rape a panda out of rage.

Its all part of the game. Hehe..., way back in 2002 I played in the Baltimore GT and took 6th overall. I lost one game with my Tau, to Blood Angels. He quite literally wiped the board of my models and there was little I could do. I killed a decent amount of his vehicles but I still got shallacked bad!

heh, sounds like DaBoyz GT I played in last year in rochester :( came in 7th overall, my one loss was to the guy who had the worst comp score of any army at the tournament (yes, we use comp here).... while my army was one of the highest comp scored there (mech marines w/ no duplication ftw).

a 50-0 score tends to hurt my chances of victory. Had I scored 41 points, I'd have been in first... 30+ points, i'd have had top 3 status... but NOOOOO, I had to screw it all up :(

There are times when you just can't win. I don't mean it's a bad mission, or match up, although those certainly happen. Sometimes you just can't win. the best example was at a pick up game, where I played my 1850 tournament ready mech IG force against a newer players mostly foot thematic IG. I got tabled. I still don't know how.

Not bad as such, but still a proper thrashing. I lost every unit in my Speed Freeks to my friend's Nrgle marine army, with slightly less-than-average losses on his part. If it weren't for those meddling Daemon Princes...

Every tournament I enter I normally end up 2nd/3rd (but I haven't gone to any big tourny's so don't count that if you wan to be picky) I get SO close and then everything falls apart in that last critical game.... Often I get tabled I don't even know why and it ruins coming in a high spot for me at the time. BUT looking back at it it isn't so bad...

Also losing to somebody who is just playing their first game stings but it's only happened once (phew)

The week after I nearly tabled one opponent in our campaign, I got tabled myself by another opponent.

That one really sucked. I know I made some general HUA (Head up ass) moves, but to be spanked that hard was a tough pill to swallow. Especially considering the whole HUA thing...

But, life goes on. We're in round 2 and I am working on a new list. I really suck at strategy. But my figures are the best painted. So suck it!

I had a pretty fail loss on Friday

I was playing against about 1500 points of IG with my CSM

He literally nuked all my transports in the first turn (I'm dead serious he rolled 6's like no other) so all of my troops went on foot and got blasted from artillery

In a last resort, I tried to DS Typhus and 5 termies right on his ass. I scattered 9" INTO his units, and then rolled a 1 on the mishap table. BLAH!

Losing to my buddy's orks after my Chaplain missed all his CC attacks, AND the bloody vow-reroll. The rest of my marines couldn't do anything against the 3 meganobs that had managed to get to my lines.

Also, on a similar note, my local CSM player lost to me when because of 14 out of 16 wounds from a Demolisher cannon being cover saved. 2 dead scouts, 1 pissed off Black Templar blob.

I loose pretty much all the time.

But I really spit the dummy out when playing against my kids. It must defy all the odds that seemingly magic and invulnerable landspeeders keep turning chimeras to molten slag AND toast the squishy contents in the process!

Who shouted tactically incompetent?
