I just picked this up since it was only 15 bucks at my local walmart and was wondering if anybody else plays it. I can't ever find a game online but I am having a lot of fun with the game. If anybody has xbox live and wants to get a game in just send me a friend request. My gamertags the same as my name on here. Let me know your from dakka when you send the request so I don't ignore it though. :3

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

Easy to find people playing online on PC. No cross platform play? Pity, it should have been implemented. Very few console games can hold an online audience for long.

Yeah its a downside for non mainstream games, but 15 bucks on 360 compared to 40 bucks on pc, I had to go with the 360 one.

I was honestly thinking of picking it up the other day in walmart, but didn't know what it was like and shied away because it was only 15 dollars.

It doesn't have all of the playable races from the table top game but if you play in classic mode it is just like the tabletop game. If you run a campaign your guys can even level up. I havn't been able to try the online multiplayer so I can't give any info on that.

There is cross-platform play, but you have to find PC users that are using LIVE for Windows.

Yuppers. I may not have them all remembered off the top of my head but I think its Elves, Skaven, Chaos, Dwarves, Lizardmen, Humans, Orks, Goblins. There may be one or 2 more but I'm not 100% on that. I've been learning with Skaven an its one heck of a learning curve. Somewhat squishy on the field but can run farther than anybody else it seems.

PC is the way to go on this unless all you want is some cheap experience with the tabletop rules. A "Legendary Edition" with a lot more races is due out end of this year. DE were made available via Live--eventually--and so might the coming races but the console community is nowhere as strong.

Yes yes. We get it. There is a stronger community on the PC. It costs more and I don't have the money for it right now. If people want to keep bringing up the pc either make donations to us console gamers or quit repeating yourselves. It isn't contributing anything useful. This threads purpose was to see if anybody on dakka had the 360 version and wanted to get a game or 2 in online. You'd think I put 360 in the title for a reason.

The Lizards have great animations, too, relative to other races.

Chill, mate. Nobody really plays RTS games on a damn console, because it sucks. A lot. Most console gamers only play FPS games, like COD, Halo, etc.

I'd suggest returning it for your money back, and investing in the pc version, which is $40 USD on Steam.

Woots. 2 people misreading it thinking I was all that ticked (yes I suck at wording things). Let me reitterate the point of this thread. I picked it up on the 360 because it was cheaper and it's all I can afford right now. I have live and the game is pretty much dead on the 360 for online. The post was made trying to get a game in for something I already have played and since it's open it can't be returned and it has almost no sell value since it's a niche game. I simply was looking to get a game in with other people. My inability to word this may make me sound upset but I'm not, just trying to get the proper point across. People telling me to avoid a game I've already bought and opened is just going off topic and providing nothing helpful especially not after the third time it's stated. As to the post about the legendary edition getting released later this year I will grab that for pc since thats where the online community seems to be. Until then if anybody else has bought this for 360 or plans on picking it up to save a bit of money hit me up if you want an online game. I promise I can put proper tone into voice despite my inability to do it with text.

My comments about the PC version were not directed at you but rather at other people who might see (and already saw) your thread title and wanted to learn more about the Blood Bowl videogame. I also have it for 360 and only bought it so that I could learn about Blood Bowl without laying down the huge investment for the tabletop game. Also, if you're really into doing some multi-player you might consider getting the PC version from Amazon. It's only 8 bucks. If that's still out of your price range, I have to ask how you afford the subscription to Live.

8 bucks I can swing. 40 not so much right now. The reason I made a defensive comment was the direction it was starting to go was just people saying don't buy it and was attempting to prevent comments like sir boostus saying just avoid it all together. It seems there is apparently a pc community I will agree that people don't need to go out and buy the 360 one especially with amazon having a cheaper version for pc. Dakka gets so negative towards most things anymore it causes me to get defensive a little quick. Add in my inability to put proper tone into text and you get my previous statement.

I havn't had a chance to research that legendary edition that was mentioned a few posts ago. Any idea of details or release date?

End of 2010 is as specific as it gets for now, it seems. But with twelve new races!

All those races and I'll still probably stick with Skaven :3. Now if only there was a way to alter their appearance so I could have Splinter in there. I'll save up for a few weeks prior to its release and snag it on pc so I can play against people.

Heh. I'm not that good either. I still lose games on easy. Mabey I should have started with a strudier army so I could take a hit without getting an injury half the time.

I think the big problem with the 360 version online is the lack of a league format (unless I misread that completely a while back.)

I do enjoy the game mind, although the 'fudging rolls' to aid the AI is glaringly obvious in single player.

If I can get my Gold back at some point I'd be interested in playing some actual players.

Ah yes. The fudged rolls. My biggest wth moment was when a tiny little goblin knocked my rat ogre down when I blitzed the little bugger. I wanna try the actual board game now to see if I can do any better.

This.
This annoyed me so much.

I'd be glad to give you a game also when I get gold again and sort out my account. (made mistakes setting it up)
