So i will be fighting a chaos daemon army later this week and i was hoping for some help. My opponent almost always takes two squads of bloodletters, a soul grinder some times two, a khorne herald on a juggernaut with bloodcrushers as honor guard, and a prince. So this is my list please tell me what you think and suggest anything cause if i dont have it i can borrow it.

Stormraven:
Reclusiarch
8 Death Company with 4 PW and 1 PF
DC dred(Blood talons/HF)
LR Crusader (with MM):
Assualt Sqd(10/Sgt PW)
Sang Preist(PW)
Baal ( AC / HB)
Dev sqd (4 ML with 10 men, reason is so i can combat sqd them so i can have 2 ML in 2 separate squads)
Dreadnought(cant decide if i want a Furioso or reg one with AC and HF, i mean if i take the furioso with a frag cannon it can F daemons up but i havnt tested)

Power weapons are not THAT great versus daemons because all daemon units' have an invul.

So you can drop the PW on the Assault Squad. You may want to take either a flamer or a hand flamer so that you can spray the enemy then assault them!

On the DC though you may want to keep the PF so that you can wound models on 2's.

I'm guessing the DC are going in the LR? If yes, the extra space of the LRC and frag assault launchers are wasted. If you have one I would suggest a regular LR. More anti-tank and if you're worried about anti-infantry then where are all those bolters?

the DC is going in my stormraven along with the DC dread. the PW's are for taking out his HQ and guard. at least im hoping it works that way.the assault sqd in the LRC. the bolters are for the fact the more rounds i can put into a squad the more +5 saves he will need to take.

All I can say with demons is guns, guns, guns. And if you want to get into close combat you NEED to get the charge to ensure you get to strike first due to furious charge.

Drops the power weapons (expect for maybe the power fists, they help deal wounds so the high toughness guys)

This will free up points to allow you to get more models on the table and thus more shots/attacks.

I recommend you use Blood Talons because those extra attacks will be nice and the Str10 isn't needed so much with the regular blood fist.

This is one of the few times I'll actually recommend flamers because they hit a large amount of models and with deamons I always feel the more shots the better.

Blood talons are probly a better choice for the DC dread as it gets an extra attack and furious charge automatically compared to the furioso. S7 on the charge can deal with vehicles except for LR's.

So is the frag cannon of any use on a furioso?

Be careful of blood talons on a DC dread if he takes soulgrinders; that just invites him to deep strike it near your dread that has to charge it but can't hurt it.

And yes a frag cannon should be amazing against daemons.

Ok so i think this is the final list im going to run with:
Stormraven with Reclusiarch, 8 Death Company with 4 PW and 1 PF, DC dred(Blood talons/HF) all in side the Raven
LR Crusader (with MM) with Assualt Sqd(2 flamers and 6 troops), Sang Preist inside
Baal (AC / HB)
Dev sqd (4 ML with an extra man)
Dev sqd (4 HB with an extra man)
Furioso (frag cannon)

not sure about the sang Priest cause the FnP wont work against the PW's his entire army has but the furious charge might be worth it if my guys can charge out of the LR.

Drop the PW on the Death Company, that will give you an extra 40 points (I think it's 10 per, don't have my codex on me) Use those 40 points to get yourself 2 more Death Company inside that Storm Raven. The more the better against Deamons.

You will want the priest. You want the Furious Charge for sure, Blood Letters have FC too, so if they get the charge you're dead. You need the charge in order to strike first.

You do know that if you're only running a total of 8 Assault marines, you cannot run 2 flamers (It's 1 special weapon for every 5 Marines, I think, double check.)

it is one for every five i forgot to change it when i dropped the squad size down. the reason i want the PW's is for his HQ cause they have a +3 or +2 save. cant remember. i was thinking about dropping the HB dev squad for a stern squad with 2 HB's. the speical ammo and 2 base attacks might be helpful

Yeah, I remember a few Daemons can have armor saves, and they would only be a 3+. I still think that you'd be better off with 2 extra bodies than the PW's. That's 6 extra attacks on the charge and with being able to re-roll hits and wounds you'll score enough wounds. I'm sure he'll roll a number of 1's and 2's if he has to roll 10-15 saves.

On the charge 10 DC will get 30 attacks that re-roll hits and wounds. Ouch.

Sternguard would be good too. The special ammo would be nice against guys in cover or high toughness guys where you only need 2+ to wound.
