Which list would you take? Are there any glaring mistakes in logic? Any other thoughts on the lists? Any comments or criticisms will be welcomed.

Firewarriors will be in the PF devilfish ASAP. I am pretty sold on Helios - Deathrain - Fireknives; I feel this set up gives you both tactical flexibility and redundancy, as their roles can be both distinct and overlapping. If you want to argue this point, that's just fine, but please know what you're talking about from a critical point of view rather than just blindly suggesting more fireknives because you read once that those were the suits to take and never challenged it.

Models are not an issue, with the following limitations: I only own 2xPirahnas and I own no Vespids, both of which shouldn't be an issue

Thanks for any insights!

Concern: Troops being too 'delicate' is how I'd put it.

In any of these lists, if you don't go first, any slightly shooty army will take the FWs apart before they can hop into the D'fish. Starting with 6 FWs, Killing two will cause a Morale Check, with only better than a 50% chance (non-'Ui leadership) that they'll hold. You might just be playing for a Draw starting your Turn 1.

I'd make each Crisis team a pair, and use the points to make the FWs full strength ... or, hmm, 9 per unit? That is the min number needed before 3 casualties cause a Morale Check, instead of 2. Funny, it takes 13 before the percentage changes. I think. Let's check my math.

Start with 12 of them. 3 die, that's 25%. Morale check.
Start with 8. 2 croak. 25%.
Start with 9. 2 die, that's 22.5%. No check. When 3 die, that will be a 33% loss, *now* a morale check.

Make sense?

I like the first list the most. I'd drop the SMS on the hammerhead for burstcannons and a flechette, TLoS has largely curtailed the advantage of the SMS. Then give it a BSF for the extra 5 points. The other option is to upgrade the CIB to an AFP on the 'el.

I'd also ensure the FWs were LoS blocked when you deploy them or as Brothererekose says they are dead in turn 1 if you don't go first.

The other option is to give the Commander a Positional relay and then hold the fish and FWs in reserve that way you can ensure they come on Fish then FW squad, fish then FW squad and ensure you ahve late ganme objective grabbers around.

THough I am fond the on eth 3rd lists 2 Hammerheads as 1 will get destroyed or at least shaken every turn before it ever gets to shot (or after just 1 shot if you go first). Tanks always worjk better in pairs. With that in mind I'd consider dropping the Hammerhead on the first list for a 2nd unit of broadsides or dropping the broadsides for a 2nd Hammerhead to give you redundancy.

Fireknife Shas'el

All over the U.S.

I'll take a stab but I'll have questions, too

As the lists Stand, Go with list 2. Join the commander to the Fireknives and reserve your Fire warriors if you go second. Plan for the pick-up on a lateral slide down your table edge.

Things I'd change. Maybe take all of yor crisis teams down to units of two, ditching the team leaders. Use the extra points to address your concerns about troop strength( kroot hounds, extra FW's) .

Maybe, also buy a cheap screen of gundrones to work behind the Kroot.(I gotta be unorthodox somewhere or people wouldn't believe it is me)

About all the ideas I'm willing to give until I find out:
1)Are you planning on running a standard batlle plan?
2) Are you looking at trying to suprise your opponents with anything?

Hope these ideas help

Thanks for the advice everyone. Looking at a 1500 point list is a lot more difficult than I thought it would be (I've mostly been building to 1750-2k). This is also the first list for use outside of my immediate friends, and your points have helped remind me of a few things that don't usually come up in that circle

@ FF, standard battle plan, no major surprises. This will be a 'fundamentals' tactical approach.

Right now I am leaning toward kind of a mash up of changes based on the above - something between list 2 and 3 almost. Essentially:

-2 crisis suits, keep broadsides at 2, insert ionhead, two troops consisting of 10 FW and 10 Kroot to stay in DF as much as possible, and an extra PF in each squad to avoid the morale check at the first loss of a body there too.

I think it may be a little too much gun, but I'm fairly offense minded, so hopefully that will work out ok.
