What three things dominate your life other than wargaming? Mine are as follows...

1. Kind of obvious, but work is the main one. Mon to Fri, 9 to 5. I quite like my job (Transport Planner), but want something to focus on rather than the random bits and pieces that come my way.
2. New baby boy. Much rather be spending time with with this little fella at the moment. Wife has banned him from learning Warhammer, but he's only three weeks old, so plenty of time to bring her round
3. Triathlons/training. Really have no time to do this properly, but I did manage to struggle round my first full olympic distance tri on Sunday (including a 1500m open water sea swim). I finished 2nd from last in my age group (thank god for the fat ginger bloke huffing and puffing in my wake).

1. Hockey in winter
2. Soccer in the fall and spring
3. Hanging with friends
4. Legos and 40k

EDIT:
5. Computer games, mostly Valve games (Half Life, Portal, etc.)

Pretty much sums it up!

(In random order)

1. Working a 5 shift job (6 days of work followed by 4 days of weekend)
2.(online) gaming.
3.Girlfriend when she's around
4.Watching the drama's unfold in a group friends every free weekend I have, seriously, going out with those guys (and girls) is like stepping into a soap series. It's hilarious.

1. Work, I spend far to much time there,Mon-Fri 8 am til 6 or 7pm, I have honestly grown to hate cars of all kinds simply because of the amount of time I have to spend working on them.

2. My Family, I don't get as much time with them as I'd like to have,but I try to make what time I have count.

3.Music,when I'm not swamped with everything else,I like to plug in my bass,turn up the amp and annoy the neighbors.

1: Work.. though both my jobs are equally rewarding, it sucks working two jobs.

2: Friends/family.... Pretty cut and dry.

3: Hobbies.... shooting, 40k, helping restore a Mustang, ect ect.

Otherwise, I'd be playing rockband and hanging out at the..G..W......I guess all I do with my life involves warhammer 40k...........

I have noooo life. I've got friends, but I don't talk to them....I'm half popular, yet for no reason, except I'm half funny....FFFFUUUUU my life.

I like threads like this for some reason.

Well I take my work seriously, even though it's just part time. School also takes quite abit of my time, but I am going for my final year in september.

Music... I played Drums and now I frequently play guitar and I sing. Both clean and a deathgrowl.

And finally a close 3rd has to be my family. I am very family oriented and I like knowing I belong to something.

1. Work...my schedule changes every damn week, but I guess that helps keep it interesting. Making coffee isn't such a bad job.
2. Jiu Jitsu...when I'm not at work, I'm on the mat. Dealing with lame people all day really makes you want to choke someone.
3. Boyfriend and his dogs...they take up the rest of my time. They make quite a little posse, those three.

As I understand the system in the USA, you do a general degree first and then go to law school. In Australia you can skip the general part entirely, if you like. The university I study at has two different ways of going about it: either you do a double major and take five years (if you don't overload; take extra classes over the holidays and the like), or just do the Law degree and take four years, minus overloading. I probably should have done something like Law/Commerce, but I decided to be artsy and do Law/Philosophy.

e: And it's divided up into subsections of study. Each unit is totally self-contained, though many have prerequisites. Mostly these are just the first year units, but there are some like contract law and evidence law which open up whole sections of the curriculum to you.

Sorry I goofed it. US law schools are generally socratic and based on reviewing cases. This is quite a bit different than other teaching methods (and I personally thought it was stupid). how is it taught there?

Lectures are lectures, I doubt there's much difference between universities, let alone countries, as far as those are concerned.

Tutorials I guess it depends on the tutor? All of my assignments so far have been legal problems; we get given a situation and are either asked a series of questions about the situation as to what powers the executive has in it, or what case one party might have against another and so on, or as you said, reviewing cases and answering questions about it.

In the tutorials themselves it's mostly the same, solving problems in a group.

Is the teaching style socratic? Not really, I guess? I've had the luck of having fairly vocal groups though. If we'd been more reticent probably the tutor would have been asking more questions.

But again, this likely varies from teacher to teacher more than uni to uni or country to country.
