Hey ho,

I came across this over at www.ironhands.com

'Space Marine Chapter Losses to date: 13 Lost in warp, 21 Irrecoverable battle losses, 9 Gene seed failure, 4 Inquisitorial purge, 16 Other circumstances.'

Can anyone help me fill out what chapters fit into which? There is no info on Ironhands...

So far I have Fire Hawks/LOTD as LIW

And Flame Falcons, Wolf Brothers as Purges...

So that leaves a lot...and then do the double up? So...are the Flame Falcons/Wolf Brothers also gene seed failure?

I really want to fill out the Lost in the Warp one...so any knowledge out there that can be shared would be great!

Interesting info on Lexicanum about them...are they a 'Other circumstances' or 'lost in the warp' do you think?

It says the Relictors are a few hundred in number, in the eye of terror but it is unknown if they are just renegade or have gone to the horny hats.

Scythes: yep pretty much wiped out, fate unknown...1 for the 21 irrevocable damaged then

Now that GW is open there must be a lot easier to play - before we just had the Model shop.

Back to Biz lest we get the thread shut...could Alpha Legion be 1/16 Other Circumstances? In Dan Abnet's book (best in series I think) they have a good twist...

The chapter i remember reading about had their recruits brainwashed before they got recruited so when the Alpha Legion assaulted them they sent out the trigger signal and the chapter was so disorientated they were taken apart some marines even attacked other and were recruited into the legion afterwards, so yeah list that as other when i find it out.

Problem is I am assuming this quote about all the destroyed chapters is correct, and even if it is correct from GW it doesn't really mean that they are all filled in: like the 2 missing legions.

I don't think Chaos count, but I think non-Choas renegade do...

The reason for that is I think they would be classed as Heretics and not as Other Circumstances...

SOV and SG have gone renegade and chaos? Or just renegade?

I think there is a guy on here who is doing a Mantis warriors army...could get his view...will look them all up anywho!

There are literally over 40 renegade chaos chapters listed on Lexicanum...

However ones like the Soul Drinkers stand out as not exactly Chaotic...so I think they would qualify as part of the 'other'...

Any one know any chapters that are renegade but not chaos?

Toeko: I can't comment on the SOB purging, but in the new SM codex on the system map you have a 'records deleted' with the rainbow warriors symbol...

Asherian Command: You're right...I didn't list them as destroyed just as Gene Seed failure...I don't think those two are necessarily linked (see BA and SW)

Toeko: Yes you're right - but we are going for the ones that are going full throtle towards extinction...i.e. probably less than 100 marines....

I read yesterday that the Rainbow Warriors symbol actually appeared in Space Crusade...checked it last night (I bought over the tiles when I came over here from the UK) and yep they do.

Should the defective Gene Seed include the Space Wolves and the Blood Angels? Obviously they fit in no other category...

I think there is a picture with a dead marine and a SOB standing over him smoking gun in hand...except the sisters name is Sin...

Rainbow Warriors are certainly intriguing as their symbol is also on the Space Crusade tiles of the early 90s.

I guess they go into the Unknown Section...

Guys just to say that I am not going to be updating this unless I get info...but if someone finds this, and has new info please post, even a year or two from now. I won't class it as threadomancy.

Anyway....thinking of doing a army of the missing...made up of squads...as part of my PM blog for the Sigmarites....
