Eternal Plague

This may be news to some and such, but just to make sure I ease you into the tragic news, I placed spoiler tags around the news in order to give the reader the ability to view the news at their own pleasure:

Spoiler:
Lindsay Lohan is an idiot.

http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1643185/20100708/lohan_lindsay.jhtml

Lindsay Lohan took to her Twitter account on Wednesday to calm the furor over a profane message on one of her fingernails. The troubled actress explained that having the words "f--- U" inscribed on the nail of her middle finger on Tuesday was just a joke and not meant to insult Judge Marsha Revel, who sentenced her to 90 days in jail and 90 days of in-patient rehab for a probation violation.

"Didn't we do our nails as a joke with our friend DC?" she tweeted. "It had nothing to do w/court. It's an airbrush design from a stencil xx."

While some legal experts have speculated that Lohan could get a few extra days in jail tacked on for contempt of court in the incident, Revel has not made any comments on the gesture so far. Attorney Scott Leemon told MTV News that the four-letter salute from Lohan was mostly just poor form and childish nonsense that could come back to bite her.

"Is it a crazy move? I don't think she thought anyone could catch on, and I don't think it had any part in the decision that was made [by Judge Revel]," said Leemon, a New York lawyer who is not involved in Lohan's case but who has logged time in court representing 50 Cent, Young Buck, Busta Rhymes, Young Jeezy and Tony Yayo. "But it won't be good if she has to come in front of her again for another violation."

Just hours after Lohan begged for leniency and pleaded with Revel that she was taking her probation seriously, still images of the profanity on her nail began to surface and questions arose about whom the message was intended for.

Lohan also used her Twitter to vent about the sentence she received, which a number of legal experts told MTV News seemed harsh for Lohan's probations violations.

Her tweets quoted Article 5 of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights, which states, "No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment."

She followed that with a comment about an article referring to U.S. sentencing guidelines and how their 15th anniversary passed with no "celebrations, parades, or other festivities in honor of this punishment scheme created by Congress and the U.S. Sentencing Commission. ... Instead, the day passed like most others during the last 15: scores of federal defendants sentenced under a constitutionally perverted system that saps moral judgment through its mechanical rules."

She also provided a link to a story about Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, a 43-year-old Iranian mother of two who is scheduled to be stoned to death for adultery.

Lohan was ordered to surrender to the court to begin her jail term on July 20. She is expected to serve around 25 percent of her time, which means she could end up behind bars for a minimum of 23 days.

Lohan's lawyer could not be reached for comment on the controversy over the nail message.

dumb bitch.

seriously, wtf is wrong with her? Doesn't she realize part of getting ready for going to court, WHERE SHE FACES JAIL TIME, is to ensure that she's not displaying profanity on her body?

its not rocket science... be respectful of the legal system and its judges.

Just look at her justification for why she shouldn't be sent to jail in the last few paragraphs of the report. She alludes to her punishment as being either cruel , inhuman, or degrading by citing a UN Declaration and putting her punishment on the same level of that of a women sentenced to death via stone(s).

P.S.- she is also a product of my home island- Long Island.

But seriously, it is like Long Island breeds idiots and morons in massive quantities.

Here is some homework: find me more of those who fit the above statement.

I don't care either but the above article is a mix between comedy and drama, which equals me laughing. What do they call it? A dramedy?

The part the gets under my skin, is why is it most celebrities get such a slap on the wrist for pretty much EVERYTHING they do thats illegal. Now if any of us were on probation, and broke our probation, Im sure we would get hammered like evryone else. I know Id hear "well OBVIOUSLY you dont take this court serious Mr. Cracker, so enjoy the next 6 months to a year in jail" Hurray me. And thats if I wore a suit and tie and shave my manly beard off to look presentable. If I had profane words written on my person, oh GOD it would get nasty.

That stuff pisses me off. What did the dumb broad do to break probation anyways?

That's how it's always been though. If this were a perfect world then things would be different. Then again if this was a perfect world I'd be having threesomes with Scarlett Johansson and Christina Hendricks. But I don't.

I'm not sure what she did but I'm sure that it was something equally stupid to what she has done above.

A judge sentenced Lindsay Lohan on Tuesday to 90 days in jail and an inpatient rehab program after finding the actress had violated her probation in a 2007 drug case by failing to attend alcohol education classes....Lohan will now have a probation officer who will monitor her progress more closely. Lohan was previously on informal probation and supervised by a judge. She will also have to enter inpatient rehab.

But enough about lindsay....
Can we talk about Anna Chapman, the "hot russian spy," instead....?

Yes. She's a hot russian spy from new jersey. Talking about spies over.

Wow, well, I already expected this from her. She needs to put out a sextape already. That's about as low as you can go. Then no one would care when she does this kind of crap.

Drugs and drunk driving....
The alcohol education classes were imposed for two, 2007 drunken driving and cocaine possession arrests. Lohan spent 84 minutes in jail in that year as part of her sentence and was given three years probation.

The thing with the way our legal system handles drunk drivers pisses me off. It seems like the only time they do anything is when the drunk finally runs someone over. I think it should be first time, slap on the wrist and rehab. Second time is jail time and heavy fines. #rd time, strait to execution.

One of the reasons the punishments for DUI are seemingly lenient is that, in most states, you can be charged with one for simply being in the proximity of your car with your keys. I have several friends who have lost their licenses for simply walking past their cars on the way out of a party, without the intention to enter their cars.

I can see that, that could easily give a cop reason for intent. But charging someone 15 times for intent, and charging someone 15 times for actually doing it would be a bit different dontcha think?

As far as I know, there is no criminal distinction between the intent to drive under the influence, and driving under the influence; its all simply driving under the influence. We could make such a legal distinction, but that opens up the parallel issue of whether or not intent can be determined when someone is under the influence.

Honestly, I think Illinois' solution is fairly effective. On the first offense you are required to have an ignition interlock device installed in your car.

Yea I totally agree with ya there man. Thats the problem with going so crazy on distinguishing how the laws work, it just opens up holes and loops more then ever.

Also Id agree with how Illinois does it. Sure you can get around it, but itll stop most people from drinking and driving.
