Devastator's are a bit expensive in my opinion. You could drop them and take two Landspeeder Typhoons. That would give you either two S8 shots or Heavy Bolter shots and 2 S4 blasts. This is assuming you moved...12 inches I think? Either way I think the points in the devastator squad could be better spent elsewhere.

He's really outta place in the list. A good h2h critter, with little means to get that Force Wep into play. I'd give him a jump back to play with the Assault Crew. Otherwise, look over the SW codex, and give this guy the JoWW power, the ultimate psy-shootiness.

The optional plasPistols/flamers will add some punch.

If these were Long-Fangs, then good, but since they can't split fire, this set up is bad, half anti-I and half anti-T. Take a look at the points costs for Sternguard with 2 heavy weps. I think you'll find that 2 LasCans with a 5 man SG squad is more cost effective than this.

Really, though, at 1k you're not going to need that much anti-T; I'd just go with 3 MLs. Cheaper than LasCans. MLs fulfill both anti-I and anti-T roles (anti-I templates are good again!). And you won't have half the squad rolling cigarettes while the other two shoot at their targets.

Keep in mind, LasCans are largely given over to MLs & MMs, as 5e's environment is so Cover Save prevalent, and MMs are more in demand with closer range effectiveness over LasCans. It's been a long time since I saw an SM player with LasCans.

I think your list would benefit from going Team Edward (that cracks me up! ) -- that is, using the Space Wolf codex.

No thanks. I'm not quite that desperate to win. I've always hated the Space Wolves because they were ridicu-broken, and I see they continue to be so in this edition. I couldn't live with myself.
Also, edited list.

I think you would benefit from taking a chaplin instead of the Libby unless your meta REALLY requires that you have a hood. In whioch case I wouldnt really wanna place my fragile Libby in the middle of HtH. A hidden PF will eat him for lunch since he wont have a inv save.

Plasma pistol in Assault squads is a waste, get a second flamer instead. Drop the Vindicator for 3 transports for your tacticals and Sternguards.

Drop the missile launchers from the sternguard and give them combi-weapons instead.

Also Librarian is a bad idea for close combat take a Chaplain with jump pack if you want to put someone in the assault squad.

If you REALLY want missile launchers take a Devastator squad. You can have 3 Missile Launchers for same price.

It's a footslogger list so your best bet is to hole up in cover and wait for the enemy to come to you (beware blast weapons though)

Lose the Storm Bolter on the Vindicator. If it's sitting at the back of the table blasting with Demolisher cannon it's wasted. If you're planning on taking the Vindicator to the enemy then drop storm bolter and see if you can get Siege Shield on there.

I agree with Purplefood. Having a chaplain with the assault squad is awesome as those close combat rerolls will nearly always win the fight. A 5+ Inv save is not going to save half as many marines as you think.

excellent choice. The assault squad is NOT supposed to fight against things that are truly scary in hand to hand... they aren't good enough. Seriously, a chappy may give you like 6-7 extra hits when you charge, while a librarian casting avenger can bring down 5-6 (or more) marines in a single casting. melta weaponry (edit- note that the melta must be from a different squad, so you can fire on the disembarked occupants) + avenger is scary as hell, because you can pen6 a rhino, force them to disembark where the rhino used to be (a tight formation) and then lay down the template love on them, wiping out entire marine squads. the librarian + assault squad combo is one I use very often, because its great for delivering 3 template weapons where they are needed. This squad is anti-light to medium infantry... keep it away from heavy infantry like terminators, because even with a chappy, you won't kill them. i'd also drop force dome for null zone. There may come a time when your opponent has some terminators on the table, you have your tac marines ready to rapid fire plasmas into them, and you need to ensure they go down. Null zone is great for this.

Agreed with above posters. missile launchers in sternguard are a bad idea. If you want a fire support sternguard unit, take lascannons... a 5 man unit with 2 lascannons is 155 points, while a similar dev squad is 160 points. That said, I don't really think sternguard have a place in 1000 point lists, because they are just too expensive on a per model basis.

Troops
2x 10 man Tac Squads w/ Missile Launcher, Plasma Gun; Sgt. w/ Combi-Plasma - 190 each

should work well enough for you, but I really think you need rhinos for this to work. Without mobility, your plasma guns won't be rapid firing anything important, and won't really do too much. Drop the sternguard, get these guys transports, and consider giving your sarges fists instead of plasmas... at this points level, its important your army is versatile, so you can do multiple things with one squad. Its likely they will end up in hand to hand at some point, so make sure they are ready for it.

Fast Attack
1x 10 man Assault Squad w/ BP and CCW, 1 with Flamer, 1 with Plasma Pistol; Sgt. w/ Bolt Pistol, Powerfist - 240

Should work fine. I'd drop the pistol for a second flamer, and give the sarge a thunderhammer, but thats just me.

try to find the extra points to buy it a seige shield. Also, unless you get rhinos, don't use this. It would be the only vehicle on the table, and all anti-vehicle weapons would target it, making its use short-lived.

After the orbital strikes, Thunderhawk bombardments, Whirlwinds, Vindicators, fusion and starfire and finally Battle Brothers with flamers had finished cleansing the world of all the enemies of Man, we built a monastery in the center of the largest, most radioactive impact crater. We named the planet "Tranquility", for it was very quiet now.
