To join/ leave a squad an IC has to move into/ out of coherency with the squad. Can Gate of Infinity count as that movement? In other words hop from being joined with squad A to being joined with squad B.

I would have to say RAW, no. As the power says "The Librarian, and any unit he is with, are removed..."

Yes - as above the power does not give the option to leave the sqad behind when GoI

Plus it is *highly* risky even if you could do it - you would have to land within 2" of the unit so greatly increasing the risk of a mishap.
